Re: Transfers
I heard the rumor a couple of weeks ago.
You hear this stuff all the time. Maybe this time, it's true?
Maybe he saw Reynolds on campus the other day, and figured Dan is
trying to find a serious bigman, to go with Biruta and Onyekaba?

Re: Transfers
If he does leave it would be too bad considering his potential. He however does not appear to be all in and might never reach that potential. This would seem to fit the rap on him from his pre-college days.

Re: Transfers
i have no idea of if and when Hare might become a real player. the only real history says probably not, the question really is,
do we think that Hurley would use this scholorship for a better player than Hare? The obvious answer is yes, the only question would be "how much better would he be"

Re: Transfers
I think a guy like Reynolds would be someone along the lines of what
Hurley would recruit to replace Hare.
A conventional post player. Hare is a player without a position, right now.
Can't play the post because of positioning and bad hands.
Can't play PF, due to lack of any type of shot or ball handling ability.
I'd rather have a solid player than one who makes flashy blocks and dunks, and little more.

Overall I agree with you about Hare, but I was curious to see how he did with another low post presence playing along side him (Biruta/Big O) and a year under his belt. I do hope he sticks it out here.rodfromcranston wrote:I think a guy like Reynolds would be someone along the lines of what

Re: Transfers
Kid is a young frosh. Potential is a scary thing. Batts was a disaster his first year; wildly inconsistent last year. Still had brain farts this year; but was dominant at times. Hare could be like that if he busts his tail. All on him.

Re: Transfers
We all know that Rod hasn't been a huge fan of Hare from Day 1. I'm with seanmc -- Hare was a freshman with huge upside. Those guys need time, especially bigs -- they tend to develop at a much slower pace. You recruit a plaayer like Hare for his junior and senior sseasons, not to have an impact right away.

It seems that Hare isn't willing to put in the work that Dan expects. If he isn't, then he should transfer.

That seems to be it, it sounds like he doesn't want to put the effort in. Hurley mentioned it earlier this year and he missed a game due to his effort

Ramulous, I am not a new poster, I was on the projo page for quite a long time. I choose not to write on this board because, its the same topics over and over, even when the title clearly states a different topic. If you would like to know how credible my comments are. I work closely with URI athletes females and males, who inform me of the inner workings (dorm, daily workouts, team meetings, ect.) of our basketball program. So even though there may be a Jim Eitner prestige under my name, it's about the quality not quantity of comments. I'm not a PC fan/TROLL, or here to start a pissing contest with any of my fellow Keaney Blue fans. I only post when i have quality opinions and truths that i am allowed to share, with our close circle fan base here. Your welcome to take my comments, however you'd like.
RFC, Kingston may or may not be a familar face who is close to the program. But I'll never tell...

Re: Transfers
Jaywin, I know who he is. Let's say he is a URI legend for something he once did.
I sure don't have a problem with what you wrote, because the eyes show not a lot
of work has been put in lifting, and this season, there seemed to be a pretty well known
set of problems regarding effort in practice.

Re: Transfers
My only comment was that in the past posters with very few posts in their history who post highly charged info have often been trolls who sign up just to incite........every new poster is subject to that bias, unfortunately....

Re: Transfers
So, the rule on recruits is that if a coach leaves to go another school, the recruits can follow and not have to sit out. What are the rules on transfers who are in the situation such as Biruta, Minnis, etc.? Can they transfer again and play right away?

Re: Transfers
Rod someone else is leaving to, (not named Dan)and you will get the last laugh of all. Prepare yourself for a great week in keaneyblue.com posting. You know who my source is and he has sworn my to silence. That is proboly enough to give you and idea of what is going on. You may want to take some sick days mid week, In other news I've been told next years big guys may be the best in recent history. Biruta and the big O are going to dominate the A10. Also been told Minnis is going to be a Parfee Bitee (spelling) type player. Great great defense and a quote from Dan " he will never put us in a situation to lose a game", I hope Hare is hurt or changes his mind. I do think he would contribute. But this team feels like the old Red Sox The hot stove or whatever you would call it makes me I crazy for midnight madness and beyond.

Hotter! I wonder if he retains an agent or is just putting his foot in the waters?
It's not a secret. It's been the hot topic on the PC board for a week.
Now they'll have something to worry about beside who the coach at URI is.
