Re: Suggested KB banner
Football graphics.........maybe skill set can migrate to Basketball too
From Stone Freeman’s update Wednesday....
Dessert
I'll take a slice of… Anthony Garro's creative media skills
Rhode Island football's social media platforms have taken a noticeable step up over the last six months. New graphics daily, different vantage points of Rhode Island highlights and exceptional background images for your iPhone every Wednesday are just a small portion of the work put into running the account.
A Ram who was formerly known for using his feet on a football field has proved he's pretty darn creative with a laptop and his fingertips. Anthony Garro, a former punter for URI, is behind the social media storm. Garro can do it all. You'll find him with a camera on game day or rapidly editing photos and videos outside the Rhode Island locker room. In one word the content he's producing is outstanding. The content he's producing is changing the public view of the entire program.
Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. are so integrated in today's world. What we see on a cellphone screen often becomes viewed as reality. What we see, we react to. We retweet. We "like" or "share." Reality does not lie on the screen but it does lie in the perspective of the person physically capturing the moment. Garro's perspective as a former Ram, a Rhode Island native, a football player and now a content creator have pushed Rhode Island football and Rhode Island athletics into center-stage on platforms we use everyday. It's unique, it's different and it's ours.
Keep killing it, Garro.

The kid Garro is phenomenal. I’ve seen a few reports of the most active and engaged social media accounts in FCS, and ours is always in the Top 20 despite our on field results. His content is dynamic, edgy and built for the younger fan base.

It's an angle shot. I don't think Adam can use it to add to the banner. But, he's pretty good so who knows.

Finally see it. Had no idea what anyone was talking about. Not sure I did anything different. I would just give it time if you haven't.

You can also try holding down shift when clicking refresh, that will do a hard refresh and might help clearing the old cached image.

Can we just put up silhouettes on the banner. No need to keep actual players pictures up there.

Can we do an animated graphic, then a revolving door constantly spinning would be a nice and appropriate touchRhodyhooopz wrote: ↑4 years ago Can we just put up silhouettes on the banner. No need to keep actual players pictures up there.

Re: Suggested KB banner
Let's get the best 5 players in history in the banner. We could do a poll of 25 or so of who are consider to be the best. We could nominate to see who makes the top 25, then vote. I think it could be fun. Lord knows, we need a bit of fun these days.

Re: Suggested KB banner
We could see who wants to participate by asking in a new thread. Those who want to participate could then take turns nominating people until we get to a certain number (20, 25, 50, whatever). Then we could do a poll and vote and the top 5 vote getters go on the banner.SmartyBarrett wrote: ↑4 years agoLove this idea.Billyboy78 wrote: ↑4 years ago Let's get the best 5 players in history in the banner. I think to make it simple and easier we look at the record books and use that for nominations. i think we know that there are 3 locks
Silk
Tyson
Sly
the rest become more subjective. this also becomes a question when discussing all time - do they have to graduate from URI to be included?

Sly is easily the best I've seen here, so I say no, they didn't have to graduate. The only reason he didn't graduate is because he was a 1st round NBA draft pick.Rhodyhooopz wrote: ↑4 years ago I think to make it simple and easier we look at the record books and use that for nominations. i think we know that there are 3 locks
