Damn, I'll be out of town. As long as they don't have future ones at Dan's Horse Stall I'm good. ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)

Dan’s Horse Stall.
I will be at George’s tomorrow. Not my favorite place in town but better than the horse stall for sure.

It's that place in NK on route 1 where they've had a few coach's shows in the past. It literally has a horse carriage in the window. It's also been a million other restaurants through the years.

My horse knowledge ends when it's not the horse related to basketball.

Great show! Cyril sounds very confident. Turnout was very disappointing. Set up at a George’s wasn’t very inducive to sound or vision. Honestly I liked the Dans Carriage House much better.

It’s called “Alumni and Family Weekend.”
Aka alumni = homecoming

I stand corrected. Alumni & Family Weekend. I am sure you didn’t know what I was referring to. That was important.

Re: Coach’s Show Oct. 21st
There used to be two separate weekends. Homecoming and Family Weekend occurring separate weekends in October. I don't see the reason to combine the two. In my mind, Family Weekends is for families and homecoming is for alums. Not all families are alums, and not all alums have families?
Also, the Foundation and Alumni Association are now under one umbrella called Foundation & Alumni Engagement.

Re: Coach’s Show Oct. 21st
True. There was discussion about this on the football board when the decision was made. I did not like it either. Football was better when there was Family Day and there was Homecoming Weekend. Calling it Alumni Family Weekend just gives it a name. They basically dropped Homecoming. You could say technically that they kept Homecoming and just changed the name but bottom line they took two good Football Weekend attractions and made them one. Plus now we can have a bad weather Saturday and it wipes out both Family Day and Homecoming. I wish they would go back to the way it was.Taylor Swift wrote: ↑4 years agoThere used to be two separate weekends. Homecoming and Family Weekend occurring separate weekends in October. I couldn't have said it better myself! There are still a lot of people I talk to who have no interest in attending football games.

Re: Coach’s Show Oct. 21st
Combining it makes one crazy packed day on campus, instead of two which kinda stinks, but should be a lot going on.
Either way, should be a hell of a day with tailgating, football game, and the first basketball game.

Dan’s carriage house might be the only venue I can attend for the foreseeable future unless the Mews installs in elevator to the Irish pub or 210 oyster bar put the ramp down to the back deck.

Doesn’t look like any 210 this season. Red Parrot is not handicapped accessible as far as I remember since the last show was on the upper level.

Come on...they gotta do at least one of these in Providence. Or at least north of East Greenwich. Are we just ceding the capital and all surrounding areas to PC? I see Rhody gear in Warwick/Cranston/Providence all the time.Taylor Swift wrote: ↑4 years agoATPTourFan wrote: ↑4 years ago Dan’s carriage house might be the only venue I can attend for the foreseeable future unless the Mews installs in elevator to the Irish pub or 210 oyster bar put the ramp down to the back deck.

It's related to the sponsorship/Learfield end. There was a show at Wright's Chicken Farm (who has sponsored) ~5-6 years ago. There has been rare times in the past the shows have ventured north of the tower. If I owned a restaurant and gave $$$ I'd want a show hosted at my place, too. I remember in 2013 when I first started regularly attending the shows (since CFL was gone), they were mostly all at the Mews.
Providence clearly states multiple times on I-95 that they are Fryah Town

........in EG, used to be something else, not on the water......one of the worst places for me, to take in a live show, so bad that in the highest of the Hurley years, walked out, couldn’t get booze/food, felt the staff had no clue what they were in for......couldn’t hear or see......as awful as it gets, I am sure there are fans......for me neva again....

Too bad there's none in northern RI for those that work in the Boston area to get to (or for those that fans that are in the Providence area).
