PC Game
Maybe I haven't been following posts close enough so maybe this was already discussed and if it was, I apologize for asking this question but what is the reasoning behind changing the PC-URI game to a friday night instead of the traditional saturday? I for one am a season ticket holder who drives 2 hours each way for each game so given I work on fridays, this certainly isnt ideal but most importantly I feel like with the game being on a saturday it is an all day thing ie grabbing lunch and beers with friends and family attending the game then the post game. I just feel like with a friday night, it is rushed. Why did they change it?

Re: PC Game
TV schedule most likely. I remember in 2013 the game was on a Thursday night so Saturday isn’t necessarily guaranteed.

It might stink convenience-wise...but the more games where we have the time dictated by television...(probably) the better?

It was likely changed for the ESPN broadcast on Friday night.

Re: PC Game
Yup: tv related ... I believe ESPN2. I agree with those that stated sometimes you have to move a game slot for maximum tv visibility.
My guess is that ESPN/ESPN2 will be televising some college football conference championship games that Saturday.

Re: PC Game
Only people who donate 1K are given the chance to purchase 4 extra PC tickets this year.
In years past, any season ticket holder was able to purchase extra tickets.
Kind of a bummer.

I was disappointed to see that also. Maybe after the donors put in requests, they will open it up to the season ticket holders.
Deadline for donors is tomorrow

Obviously, they're trying to keep tickets out of the wrong hands.
I still think they should permanently revoke tickets from anyone who gives, sells or in any way transfers tickets to people from the mental hospital.

Are you saying anyone who donates less than 1K a year is more likely to sell them to PC fans and the chances are slim the 1K+ donors will sell them to PC fans?
That’s pretty ridiculous logic but ok.

Not saying one group is more likely to do it, but over the years I’ve sat next to too many of (ahem) the wrong people in seats otherwise occupied by season-ticket holders.Rhody15 wrote: ↑4 years agoRhode_Island_Red wrote: ↑4 years agoObviously, they're trying to keep tickets out of the wrong hands.

I am disappointed by the news, too, but those of us who want to see this program thrive should take it as a positive sign that season ticket and mini plan subscriptions must be increasing to the point where there aren't enough empty seats to offer every account holder the chance to buy four.Rhode_Island_Red wrote: ↑4 years agoObviously, they're trying to keep tickets out of the wrong hands.

If there is decreased inventory, though, I wish they had gotten more creative and considered another way to deal with that: maybe by offering only two additional seats per account, or one for every seat you have (maybe with the biggest donors getting two per seat).

The offer to the $1,000+ donors was one seat for each season ticket so your suggestion wouldn’t work.RhodyFanNotAlum wrote: ↑4 years agoI am disappointed by the news, too, but those of us who want to see this program thrive should take it as a positive sign that season ticket and mini plan subscriptions must be increasing to the point where there aren't enough empty seats to offer every account holder the chance to buy four.Rhode_Island_Red wrote: ↑4 years agoObviously, they're trying to keep tickets out of the wrong hands.

I'm not sure what the thresholds are but my wife and I only have the two tickets and donate more than $1k but less than $5k. We were given the opportunity to purchase up to 4 additional tickets.

I have 4 season tickets and could purchase an additional 4 for PC. I was thinking it was 1 for 1 but it must be 4 additional tickets regardless of how many season tickets you have.

Hah! I still remember my high school calculus teacher telling us that we'd have no access to calculators in the real world and therefore; y = mx + b was crucial to being a contributing member of society. I'm still here and haven't used it since

Re: PC Game
The email confirmation on getting the extra tickets for donors went out today.
It mentioned the limited ticket availability was due to the increase in season ticket and mini-plan demand this year.

Re: PC Game
I am going to be “that person”. I had a meeting in Warwick this morning and stopped at Target after (the mall one). I was walking through and noticed their sports gear section at the center. Tons of Pats and Celts stuff, naturally. I was on the women’s/kid’s side and didn’t spend too much time there BUT noticed a good amount of PC gear. Didn’t see any Rhody gear. Not that I am going to write to Target or call them, simply venting here. URI has come leaps and bounds with being internationally recognized for engineering, oceanography, business, pharmacy, neuroscience, journalism, etc. and it’s still like being the bridesmaid in this state.

Yes, and it's definitely got a good selection of Rhody gear. Bonus points for the store carrying us in the Belly of the Beast.

When I worked in Providence I’d go into the mall during lunch time. I miss Nordstrom’s accessories. I have sunglasses that look like Tom Ford ($500 retail) that we’re only $15.
I hang my Rhody T’s in my closet because I think they’re better than any other T-shirt’s I own.
I’ll stick to the Rhody bookstore.

Hardly seems secret when a full box score is releasedrjsuperfly66 wrote: ↑4 years agoIt was part of a home and home agreement so Purdue will be returning to PC for next years “secret” scrimmage.
Good performance by PCs starting big men Diallo, Young and Holt
They hit 2-5 on three pointers and 12-15 on FTs scoring 38 of the teams 60 points. Plus 5 blocked shots
Starting guards Duke and Reeves 2-14 FGs, 0-4 on threes and 1-4 FTs for only 5 points between them
Diallo continues his strong play with 22 points and 12 rebounds
Holt only other Fryer in double figures with 10 points 3 rebounds
Purdue had no player in double figures in scoring
