Been in the works for a few months. Saw this on Scout Friars a while back.

PC gets to play Kentucky in Brooklyn this upcoming season and then will travel to Lexington the following year. No return game to Providence. Kentucky rarely ever plays an OOC game on an opponent's homecourt.

Duke at Mohegan Sun in return for a URI trip to Duke. Make it happen Bobby!

Mohegan is too small. More likely to play at MSG/Barclays like PC is doing with UK.

UK already has the top PG, SG, PF and top 2 centers in next years class committed. Still a puncher's chance for the #1 overall player and top SF. They will be LOADED.

Re: Friars to play Kentucky next year
I don't have a problem with Kentucky getting all those top recruits.
The problem I have, is that most if not all of them will be gone after one season.
It's like prep school for the NBA, except most of them probably wouldn't have a snowball's chance to remain academically eligible for their sophomore season. Not that they plan on being there after one year anyway. Classes? Classes? You talkin' about classes?
Coach Cal doesn't need an academic advisor. All he has to do is make sure they remain eligible for their second semester, which isn't too hard.
I'm sorry, it's a frigging joke, and it shouldn't be allowed.

Don't hate the player; hate the game. Cal manipulates the current system to his advantage .
I agree 100%. That why I'm in favor of the baseball system. Pro from HS; or you're locked in until your junior year.

The thing is, he actually promotes the one and done and uses it to his advantage. Slimy but legal. It's going to be interesting to see what happens now when he has to blend all these #1 ranked guys who he promised the world, with all of last years #1 guys who he promised the world, but that aren't leaving. It could get ugly.

I think he has the track record and enough connections to the pro game where it won't really matter that much, kind of like Saban in college football. Even if you don't put up the gaudiest numbers, if you commit to the program, you know he's going to do his best to hype you up come draft day.Captainron@ wrote:The thing is, he actually promotes the one and done and uses it to his advantage.
