ESPN has him ranked 2nd in his class.

Hopefully by the time he’s eligible, he won’t have to waste a year in college if he doesn’t want to.

I know there are no "can't miss" future NBA stars at that age, but he's as close as you get.

Looks good in Rhody gear! I'm not giving up hope, if he is a top 5 prospect he will be a 1 and done no matter where he goes.

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
pie in sky guy here but I always wonder about a deal like this.
Such an extreme talent why not us? TV cameras would come to cover he'd be just as huge a deal here as in Lexington.
One and done, really what difference would it make to the player? I am a homer of course but it is kinda nice here actually.
Odom albeit a train wreck got plenty of coverage here, didn't miss an NBA beat.
This player is a first round pick if I coached him.....
Really, there is a strong connection, why not us?
Time to hit a home run?

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
He will be trying to position himself to get the highest draft pick possible. The higher the pick, the more the money. The NBA scouts will tell him he needs to get the most experience he can get against top competition. That means playing in a top conference on a team that books tough OOC games. That is not the A10. The NBA plays 82 games and none of them are easy. He will take the avice from NBA scouts and mgt and play 1 year at UK or Duke most likely.hrstrat57 wrote: ↑5 years ago pie in sky guy here but I always wonder about a deal like this.

You are encourage because a top recruit who is three years away from entering college is making an unofficial visit to see a concert. As others have mentioned, if the NBA makes the changes expected he will never play one game of college ball.

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke (Offer)
OK I get it he's a 1st round pick out of HS if rules change.
So again if the rules stay one and done exactly how would playing at URI with TV cameras following his every move like they did Odom hurt him?
If he is comfortable here why not us?
Jeez y'all negative Nancies....
Think big!

Just given his ranking and caliber the fact he is stepping foot on campus, self calling it an "unofficial visit" and wearing our uniform on social media is plenty good pub enough. Especially with other high school players that follow him on social. All press is good press.

How long ago did Odom get drafted? Things have changed in the last 20 years. His family and advisors will guide him to pick the school that gives him the highest probability for success. Think realistic.

I still want to believe he will consider us, so don't burst my bubble (LOL).
You can go anywhere you want these days. If you are that good, the NBA will find you.
Hey, it's a short drive for Danny!
It would be a nice leap forward for the program, for sure. Dream Big.

I don’t get it. He’ll be the number one player coming out of college or high school regardless of where he goes and if he comes to Rhode Island he’ll have the time of his life. It was the best four years of my life. He’s a New England kid. He should go to a New England school. You only live once. Life is too short. #GoRhody! F em all.

I know the odds of us getting him are equivalent to winning the lottery, but at least we got some press with some pretty good programs.

Interesting that they ask him about his Brewster team and he mentions five other players with no mention of Walker.

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke (Offer)
Theres no point at looking at Clarke as 2021. By that point he'll be entering the draft from HS, or he will have reclassified to 2020. I expect coaches to recruit him as if he were a year older. Sadly, we have zero chance. Bt still it's cool seeing a semi local kid blow up like this. He's been better than all of his star teammates at Brewster and hes the youngest one.

Yeah, I'm crazy. But he looks like Michael Jordan as a high school player. The jump shot is almost identical. Jordan might have been slightly more athletic, but not by much.

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke (Offer)
The NBA had no problem finding Ja Morant at Murray St, so they can certainly find Terrence at URI.
Morant had NO press going into college. This young man has plenty. They already know how good he is, wherever he plays.
Be different, Terrence!

83, we get it man. Move on. He was NEVER coming here regardless. We’ve had 2 Expressions players here. One impactful, the other, the jury is still out. We’ve never even had a flood of those guys list us in their final lists, let alone, commit.

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke (Offer)
I agree we were never getting Clarke. I think your evaluation of Ty dropped after he was released. Using your assessment above, the jury is out on everyone on the roster accept Jeff and Cyril. I think in fairness to Ty he had much more impact on all the non-DMV recruits than you give him credit for. I also think his evaluation of success with Expressions was going to be judged by the ‘21 class (excluding Clarke).

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke (Offer)
Yeah, people tracked Ty’s recruiting movements on social media like crazy (he was everywhere) and now he’s just the coach that was just here to get Expressions guys? They missed on Bishop, and he was out to meet with Hammond in a minute, for example. I understand moving on because he’s no longer employed by URI, but I don’t know why we need to rewrite history.Rhody83 wrote: ↑5 years ago I agree we were never getting Clarke. 83, again, he could do nothing else. His only job was to maintain and build relationships. He did that well, as would mostly ANYONE in that position. He got a job here because he could bring JT. He couldn’t coach or scout one iota....I personally think you give him too much credit. Again, wish him well, but I won’t miss him. If his Expressions connections were that fruitful, I can guarantee DH would have taken him along. He was successful on the road because Cox enabled him to be successful. Go check in here, or go see xyz there....I doubt half the things he did were on his own merit.Rhody83 wrote: ↑5 years agoI agree we were never getting Clarke.
