Also on iTunes.
We talk football from 0:00 to 13:10. Very excited for tomorrow’s game. UNH has played extremely well over the last few weeks including a home win over JMU. It’s going to be a close game, but I think Rhody wants this more. Finish at 6-5. Strong season overall.

Anyone at the game? No stream available today because Rhodys system crashes. Plus, the Rhody Football twitter account is abysmal at live tweeting games.

How does the referee review a targeting call if there is no broadcast/scoreboard replay?

Congratulations to the URI football players and staff on a winning season. Would have been even better had Lawson not missed much of the season. None the less a successful season. Team still managed to hold off Harvard and beat Brown and W&M in his absence. In just about every game but Stony Brook. Three of the five losses were by a combined score of just 12 points.

One thing about Coach Flem's teams is they keep playing.
One loss does not necessarily roll into another . They don't feel sorry for themselves.
Keep building!

Re: Big game tomorrow
UNH makes it 14-17 with a touchdown following a URI fumble but then URI gets the monster play by who else but Ahmere Dorsey when he returns the kick off from the 5 yard line for 95 yards to make it 24-14 Rhody!
What a year returning the football for Dorsey!!

Re: Big game tomorrow
Way to go boys!
Not the cleanest of games...
But a great result.
A winning season!
.500 in the league for just the 4th time since '85.
Let's keep building...
Hopefully next year it all comes together,
and the playoffs return to Meade.
Get to work on it today!

Re: Big game tomorrow
New Hampshire was ranked 3rd in the Nation in the Athlon Preseason poll
URI was Ranked last in the CAA preseason poll
We had lost 7 straight to UNH with last win in 2010
This win was a great way to finish off the season
I remember last season discussion here on this board and at the water coolers, early in the season who Fleming should be starting - Lawson or Harris? Many wanted Harris.
A shame we had the injury to Lawson or this could have truly been a special season. Wish we had him next year too.
Lawson proved his worth and then some over and over again.
Now question is who steps up next year for the WB slot and could he be a FBS transfer?

Re: Big game tomorrow
Very good win and season. We were actually a little unlucky with our conference schedule besides. Our road games consisted of teams that finished tied for 3rd, tied for 3rd, sixth and second and while we missed tied for third Towson we also didn't get to play the two teams that tied for tenth, Villanova and Richmond
Huge hat tip to the grounds crew. We've had a ton of rain this fall, our last game was played in a monsoon which must have done a number on the field and you had the snow Thursday night, but they had the field ready to go and conditions didn't seem to have an impact on the game.
The best information we have suggests Fleming has one more year on his contract and after this season he is due for an extension. Hopefully we can keep it to a two year extension and I wouldn't want to see more than three more years added.
As good as this year was it has to be a genuine building point and not just a one year wonder like 2001. On the field the first order of business is solidifying the quarterback position with Lawson's departure and we need to become more stout on the defensive side of the ball. We allowed 29.8 points per game in conference, tenth in the league. Assuming our offense takes a step back with Lawson leaving, the defense will have to pick up some of the slack.
Off the field we'll be getting lights and field turf this year or next, which is good, but improving the East stands remains the most important thing for the football program and will ultimately be the true test of how committed the athletic department is to having a football program that is consistently competitive

Re: Big game tomorrow
Couldn't agree more, replacing the East Stands is essential. Regarding FIeming's status, is it possible to find out how long Fleming's contract is for? It has been mentioned in this forum that it was for 5 years. Isn't this public information given he is a State employee? If he got a 6 year deal from Thor/Dooley that is pretty impressive, certainly much more impressive than his record. Though it gives me quite a pause as to Thor's judgement. But perhaps a 6th year will work out better than extending his contract now. Given his 13-43 record, I would hope a winning record in 2019 is a requirement for being brought back. The first time I heard Fleming speak and each time afterward, he did not speak about having a winning season, but of winning championships and earning diplomas. I like that standard, let's hold him to it.

Re: Big game tomorrow
It was a five year contract with a university option for a sixth year that the university had to trigger after the first season. The confusion was whether the university triggered the option or not but the speculation is they did
