University of Rhode Island vs. Pace University
The Ryan Center
Kingston, RI
Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018
7:00PM (WRIU)
Media
TV: None
Radio:
WRIU, 90.3 (student radio)
Previews: ???
Vegas: No line, hopefully
Pace roster:
https://paceuathletics.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball &
As a reminder, take all preseason / exhibition game results with a grain of salt. The two teams last played in 2014-15, with URI winning 94-54 and Matthew Butler
scoring a dozen . Pace doesn't have a player taller than 6'7" on the roster. (Other "fun in exhibition season!" results: URI
beat Coast Guard 83-31 in 2012-13... en route to an 8-21 season.)

I had no idea that’s where he ended up. Good for him. Hope he plays well in a familiar gym.

I'm sure Martin Manns going to be pretty good.
I'll make two guarantees, that we will win and, Cyril is going to have his way with these guys down low.

Depending on minutes, a 20/20 game seems possible.

Certainly 20/20 potential but it doesn't matter. He has had enough good games in his career for confidence.
In games that don't matter he needs to be managed. He is like a thoroughbred horse, you dont let him run to his heart's content. You just get him ready to go and put him in the stable.

I was desperately trying to find that old Rhode Island College or Maine box score, where one of our later-barely-playing centers logged a double-double and everyone went crazy. But alas!

Rod said to put on record that Onyekaba will be the best rebounder URI has had since ARD....

And of course that thread is littered with GBG criticizing DH for not giving EC the point guard role from day 1. That aged about as well as his Xavier Munford opinions.

I love that Cox allows a lot of access and is transparent in what he is doing. Talks about the rotation and that he is settling on the 8-9 guys that will play. Harris does show up in the video near the end shooting.

FYI - Shaidzon Brewery will be closed tomorrow night prior to the URI game. Their glycol chiller isn't working properly, so they are closed to save inventory for the weekend. So no pregaming there prior to the game. Just letting everyone in case they were planning on going over there before the game like I was.

Yes, once the WS is over.
Colby Cotter from Narragansett Times is also covering the team. He wrote an article last week from a practice visit.

What I'm looking for at the game? A starting lineup and to see who comes off the bench first. I say Cox plays the regular rotation then lets the bench get minutes. GO RAMS

New season bros! Definitely feel good about the rotation. Tate looks like a beast in that video.
Why not 3-straight trips to the dance?

If the box score of the scrimmage is any indication of how things will go for us this year, I dont see why not!

This... originally said something different?
Will’s previews are great, love the direct quotes. The freshmen will learn. Been a couple of hiccups on social media, but they’ll get it. That’s the idea of getting old and staying old. Have those older guys who have been there, achieved, and can lead. Fatts is younger, but he was indoctrinated early.

Not worried about Harris. He did foul a lot in HS.....going to take time, but I trust the staff will get him right.
