Sorry for the confusion on the earlier post.
URI is only pursuing McLeod now. No other ‘19s are currently being recruited.

Kid has been quiet. Figured as big a night he had last night, he would’ve been more active.

It might be a good sign for once! In the past he has posted everything and hasn’t committed. He might be setting up for an announcement out of no where. He probably wants to keep people guessing. It seems to be his style.

Re: '19 PA C - Naheem McLeod (Offer)
Yeah, i'm leaning towards with ur opinion. I think he is keeping his options open between URI and FSU, if there is a commit w/FSU ahead of his official. I don't know, this kid is really vague with everything on his IG (not saying he would be open to saying a verbal on his IG lives in past, but it getting to furstrating to follow him and not get anything concrete)
To DC_Rams point, anytime Rhody is mentioned with his questions he throws in the eyeball emoji, so see what happens. I don't now if its a positive or not about him being quiet on social media. I would have guessed him having a selfie IG live last night simialr to what Fatts and Tyrese were doing with theirs, but from the suite

The recruits went down to the floor. No one knows what Naheem did, but Cyril was with all the recruits at one point last night.wpbrown8267 wrote: ↑5 years agoYeah, i'm leaning towards with ur opinion. Got a good feeling here. Koprivica to FSU is pretty likely at this point. They definitely wouldn't take McLeod at the point

Is there a rule on how long he can stay on the visit? This is his 3rd visit. If he leaves without a commitment, I’m over him lol

Re: '19 PA C - Naheem McLeod (Offer)
I believe URI is treating this weekend like a real away game. I recall Coach Cox saying they would have a team dinner the night before, go thru a scout and then scrimmage at St John’s on Saturday. So they aren’t in position to handle a campus visit right now.

Re: '19 PA C - Naheem McLeod (Offer)
Realistically we aren’t in a rush for another commitment, we can wait out McLeod and if doesn’t end up committing, we’re still in a strong position numbers wise for next year and who knows who might be looking to transfer or decommit in the coming months that could fall in our laps.

I get the feeling that if McLeod really wanted to come here, he would have committed by now.
He's either "all in"....or he's not. To me, he's not.

It seems to me at this point you could sum up McLeod's attitude about playing for URI as... I wouldn't mind playing for you guys, but man, I really, really want to play for those guys...

Yup. No different than Walker and Bishop and what we will find from many of the recruits that URI goes after in the future that are top 150 recruits or 7-3 in this case. It is the way it has always been and will be.reckless jake wrote: ↑5 years ago It seems to me at this point you could sum up McLeod's attitude about playing for URI as... Re: '19 PA C - Naheem McLeod (Offer)
I think you guys are too sensitive. This is not an uncommon way for recruiting to play out. Off the top of my head, I’d compare this to Jarvis Garrett who strung his recruitment out seemingly forever and everyone here said basically the same things and he ended up coming here being a beloved player at URI. Jared did choose a P5 school over URI and he could be an all-time fan favorite here. People being like “if he doesn’t know he wants in today then I don’t even want him” is very crazy ex girlfriend of you guys. Take a deep breath. We have a very competent staff and they’re making their best effort, which bodes well for us but may not be successful 100% if the time.

Re: '19 PA C - Naheem McLeod (Offer)
I think our conference is hurting us. It doesn't have the respect it once did. Even as recently as when EC and Hass and then Jared and Jarvis were recruited, the conference was better and more respected. We lost Bishop and Walker and possibly McLeod to better conferences. 5 and 6 years ago, it was different.

Unfortunately when you are swimming with the big boys, this is going to happen. But would you rather be swimming with the big boys and occasionally win a race, or swimming only in the kiddie pool and dominate the competition?

I think with his 3rd visit this week came a renewed sense of optimism that he would commit afterwards.
Maybe he will. Or maybe things will unfold at FSU that will force his decision.

Yeah so what if hes waiting on FSU. He also just seems to want to take advantage of all of his opportunities to visit all these schools and go to football games and such.
If any of those other centers choose FSU then hes ours.
He may still take us if they dont pick him.
He may have a decision date like Jermaine.

I also spaced last night. Being on an unofficial visit URI couldn’t pay for meals, lodging or transportation.

Re: '19 PA C - Naheem McLeod (Offer)
He might have a decision date like Jermaine, but it isn’t close to the excitement that everyone would feel as we did when Jermaine picked URI over Xavier. I want McLeod as much as anyone, but Jermaine Harris is a difference maker with All American potential. McLeod is not on his level. He has played this game of cat and mouse for so long that the fans and maybe even the coaches are starting to lose interest. If you want to sign with URI-great! If not than let’s move on to 2020 and any transfers or even remaining 2019 players that change their mind or become available.PeterRamTime wrote: ↑5 years ago Yeah so what if hes waiting on FSU. Even if he has decided to come here I couldn't blame him for taking his visit to FSU. Would you go on a free trip and be treated like a kin?g? Super meals, Football game vs. Clemson, and maybe even a few southern ladies wanting to find out how big he really is. Seems hard for a young man to turn down when he has nothing to lose by going to visit.

I haven't lost any interest from the ao called cat and mouse game. I seriously doubt the coaches have lost much interest either. Its just frustrating to wait is all.

Re: '19 PA C - Naheem McLeod (Offer)
I was just watching McLeod on IG live practicing with another teammate. They we taking turns with a shooting drill. Dribble and shoot from 12-14 feet. They move their spot a little. You shoot until you hit 10 shots and the other guy rebounds and feeds you. McLeod hit 10 out of 13. The impressive part is he shot them left handed and he is right handed. Are you kidding me. I went back to watch some of his videos and under the basket he shoots with either hand. He seems to be working really hard. He may have started with this effort a year later than other top recruits. Would lead to a late bloomer. Now I really want this kid. Huge potential. Btw, he now measures 7’4”.

pretty unlikely, sounds like memphis and kentucky are leading. but the other center who came to FSU this weekend looks pretty likely,
Balsa Koprivica. keep an eye out for a commit from him.

Kofi Cockburn has FSU on his final list, too. So much would have to go wrong for FSU to get to McLeod. It seems like URI is really just recruiting against themselves for him.
(I, of course, would be all in for a Kofi commitment this upcoming weekend)

Yeah, he did say that originally. Achiuwa and Cockburn both talked about Spring commitments, but sometimes guys see others committing and want to get their situations settled.

Re: '19 PA C - Naheem McLeod (Offer)
As you know Kofi is taking the process slow. He has narrowed it down to 8 schools and just scheduled his first visit to UCONN for next weekend. He likely has 4 more visits after that. Not expected to sign in November.
Koprivica has no other official visits scheduled. He plays for Monteverde Academy in FL. He moved to the US in 2015. He is from Serbia and his parents still live there. He was mentioned in the FBI scandal. It was reported that he was being offered $150,000 to commit to Louisville for 2018. He transferred to Montverde in Dec 2017 (after the scandal broke) and decideD to do a PG year. He will be 19 years old when he graduates. I mention all of this because he probably is not interested in a long recruiting process. There are only two other teams listed as “warm” on 247 (UCLA & USC). He hasn’t visited either and isn’t scheduled to visit.
