Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
Yeah, I know. A lot of you don't like to look that far into the future. But this one really excites me. One of the top high school frosh in the country. Immensely talented. In every top 10 in all of the rankings for 2021, some have him top 3. Do we have a shot? Who knows. But he does play for Expressions. Let's go Ty!

This is significant. An obvious step beyond where we believed was possible a few years ago.

We need to be at every one of this kid's games that we possibly can for the next 4 years. He seems happy about the offer.

Wow, this fan base is looking past having the #1 kid in the 2021 class. The kid has been to two games this season, outwardly has stated he loves the program and we’re showing him no love? I’m flabbergasted

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
I have talked about how I was sitting behind Todd Quarles at NPSI last week. Todd is thrilled with what Dan has done with Jared. He said Dan has done exactly as he promised when we were recruiting him. That Expressions connection is just getting stronger. I still think it's a long shot getting a top 5 talent. But not impossible!Billyboy78 wrote:I am!NorthernRamFan wrote:Wow, this fan base is looking past having the #1 kid in the 2021 class. Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
I mean this is a 2021 recruit we are talking about here. It's not like he is making his decision in a few weeks and we are in his final 5 or whatever. Of course this fanbase would be ecstatic to even have a chance at this kid. But a lot can happen in 3 years, and we happen to be in the midst of one of the best seasons in the programs history. People are understandably focused on other things at the moment.NorthernRamFan wrote:Wow, this fan base is looking past having the #1 kid in the 2021 class. Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
Kid loves the program, his family is tight with one of our assistants and well Pete Thamel’s dropping bombs like this: https://www.yahoo.com/amphtml/sports/so ... ssion=true
So ya never know if recruiting a 2021 and having the fan base really show love will make an impact, but hell it’s worth a try!

This is the type of kid that if we were to land, or have a hint that it's highly likely we COULD land him, shows Dan that he's able to accomplish his long-term goals if he were to stay at Rhody.

Potentially the best. The connection with Ty, Jared, Dana, Todd Quarles is there. Will it be enough? We can only hope.reef wrote:How good is this kid ?? In terms of kids in the past where woukd he rank ??

This is wrong, Lamar was considered a Top 5 prospect in his class...some scouts had him at #1.DC_Rams wrote:The best the school will have ever had. Ranking wise.

Lamar would still be the best rated player we've ever gotten.DC_Rams wrote:Keep in mind, he’s this good and he’s class of 2021bigappleram wrote:This is wrong, Lamar was considered a Top 5 prospect in his class...some scouts had him at #1.DC_Rams wrote:The best the school will have ever had. Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
He's most likely going to be top 5 in his class, possibly even #1. I'd like to think we have a shot, but he's probably going to be a one and done to Duke or Kentucky. He's about as close to a can't miss NBA star as you can be at that age.

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
If you are already a Top 5 player in your class, you don't really need the exposure. The scouts know who you are.
So, play close to home for your one-and-done and let your family come to all your games before you are exiled to Phoenix or Memphis.

Yeah I agree with that also. Cool that he already attended games at URI and friends with Dana. Hopefully he tosses URI a bone and gives us a year of thrills

Our 4 freshmen this year would be seniors that year (and next years 3 would be juniors) so that could be a very good team to entice him to come here for that 1 and done.....dare to dream?

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
Something worth monitoring:
The NBA on Friday sent teams a memo indicating that "eligibility rules" for the draft may shift as early as 2021 (but no earlier) as the league reviews issues "related to player development and the corruption investigation in college basketball," according to a copy of the memo obtained by ESPN.
The memo does not mention the one-and-done rule by name, but it is meant to remind teams the league and the players union could agree to scrap one-and-done before the expiration of the current collective bargaining deal in 2024 -- and perhaps well before then, sources say. The memo says that as of now, the league does not expect changes in draft eligibility rules would take place at any time "prior to the 2021 or 2022 draft."

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
Is there a better 2021 prospect than Terrence Clarke?
Not many rising sophomores can take over a Peach Jam game, but that’s exactly what Terrence Clark did during a viewing on the second day of the event. Clarke pumped in 25 points in the outing and scored them in nearly every possible way.
At 6-foot-6, Clarke has good size and length for a quick. He’s quick, handles the ball well and is a natural scorer that can fill it up from all three levels. He’s also an impressive athlete and two-way player that takes pride in his defense.
In five games at the event, Clarke averaged 13 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists a game, while shooting nearly 40-percent from three.

Obviously, it's a long shot. There's the Expressions connection, Ty, Jared, Dana. And he's been on campus several times. So, there's that. But, yeah, it's a long shotrambone 78 wrote:Beating out the likes of Duke and Kentucky? Really?

Re: '21 MA SF Terrance Clarke
I said earlier in this thread we should have a really good team that year (4 seniors/3 juniors) so him being 1 and done would fit in very nicely and could make that team a possible elite 8 or better team.....Having to recruit 5 guys for "22" would be tough but a very deep run could ease that greatly.
