Expressions has to be one of the most vocal teams I've covered. Philmon Gebrewhit & Dana Tate a big reason why. High IQ, versatile wings

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
Nothing new to report regarding Penny, sorry if you clicked on this hoping to find some good, recent news....
I just wanted to bump him up to the top of the list in hopes that he optimistically verbals to us soon.
Like his Expressions buddy Tate, he's visited the campus several times, he's been to the Elite Camp, he knows the staff and hopefully, after noontime tomorrow, he has and even tighter connection to our team.
Good luck Penny. Go Rhody.

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
Somebody reported he may not want to go where Tate goes due to positional reasons I believe. I can see him going to Dayton. Just a random guess on my part though.

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
This would be too bad. On the little bit of video available, Gebrewhit looks to be more of a true wing.
In a position-less system, you need 3-4 of these types of players.
This kid looks like a more polished version of Aaron Wheeler - the type of 'big wing' we seem to need.

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
He's not the same position as Tate, I think the person who posted that he wouldn't want to come here is misinformed. Just praying for him to commit and be eligible, a lot of these high level kids aren't. Friars saw that with Ledo and others...CT Rhody wrote:Somebody reported he may not want to go where Tate goes due to positional reasons I believe. I can see him going to Dayton. Unusually quiet here; no visits

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
We have a scholarship available. Did we decide to pass on him? Or does he have bigger dreams? The tweet has a hint of desperation to it.

Not sure why we wouldn’t be in on him still - seems like a great guy to fill out the class.

I thought I heard it might be grades with him, although I'm not sure about that.

We don’t need another wing G with the last scholly. Big man only (C or F).

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
My understanding was that he wouldn’t qualify this year for academic reasons. Possibly reclassify.
If you say you’re a Rhody fan, I know you are my brother. For you have suffered as I have suffered.

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
So there's still a good chance he could end up with us as a 2019 recruit. A multi-skilled, 6-7 wing guard in this era of positionless basketball is not a bad thing.Billyboy78 wrote:Yes. He's an Expressions kid, so I would think yes. But I have no idea. Just my opinion. I don't know if we're still on him.reckless jake wrote:So there's still a good chance he could end up with us as a 2019 recruit. Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
A tough one to figure. Offered by at least a half dozen A10 schools and goes Northeast Conference.

Seen him play over a dozen times, massively overrated and I think schools started to pick up on that.

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
Corey Evans of Rivals, who probably sees as many kids across the country as anyone, calls Gebrewhit's commitment to Robert Morris "the heist of the spring" and says Gebrewhit is "high major talent" who should be an instant producer.

I could be wrong, but I think he had some academic issues.

Re: '18 MA SF Philmon Gebrewhit (Offer)
You're correct. There was some talk of him reclassing to '19 because of academics, but I guess that isn't happening now? I dunno, seems like Robert Morris is taking on some risk there.Billyboy78 wrote:I could be wrong, but I think he had some academic issues.

Could be another Obadiah Toppin situation like over at Dayton and has to sit our the 1st year due to academics. I guess we'll seeSmartyBarrett wrote:You're correct. We chose between him and Tate.... I think we made the right choice.
