THE EARLY LINE URI VS ST .LOUIS
The line has opened at URI - 7 1/2 . That seems like almost a gimme. Take the rams and the points on this one
before it goes up to 10 or more where it should really be. URI should cruise barring an uncharacteristically bad
performance which i don't see coming.

Very interesting line. I wonder what they are seeing that we aren't. Or if they are just dead wrong. I feel like we match up really really well with these guys and should be able to handle them easily. Granted road conference games are always tough, but I really like our chances here.

The line is now up to URI - 81/2 to - 9. could go higher. I would expect it to go to - 10. We will see.

I can't believe I am seeing lines of - 61/2 for this game . Did URI suspend all of its scholarship players for this game or what ?
Has Vegas seen these two teams ?

It always makes me very nervous when Vegas has these lines that seem way too good to be true.

Line opened at 9 and is now down to 7, and 6.5. Usually means tons of money came in on the Billikens.

Normally a trap Vegas line would scare me.
I’m hammering this and assuming Vegas thinks every team in the A10 sucks.

Re: THE EARLY LINE URI VS ST .LOUIS
I think URI upset SLU at SLU in Hurley's first year. SLU won the A10 and was a tourney team. So, roles could reverse and there could be payback. Hopefully Dan and boys take care of business.Rhody74 wrote:I'm watching the replay of SLU and Richmond. The Billikens remind me of the Rams of Dan's first year here.

Very strange I saw 9 last night and now 6.5 don't like a big movement like that. I will just put URI in teasers and money line parlays

Re: THE EARLY LINE URI VS ST .LOUIS
I looked into Hurley vs. St Louis just to see if there was some kind of awful history like we have @ Hawk Hill or something of the like. That would kind of explain the line - just to make sure I didn't feel like an idiot for hammering it.
Welp, Dan is 5-1 against St Louis, 3-0 in their building.
The 1 loss came at the Ryan Center by 1 in 2014. Jordair Jett dropped 31 and Xavier Munford gave us a 1 point lead with 17 seconds left. That was EC/Hass sophomore year and we were depending on guys like Biggie Minnis, Onyekaba, and Reichel to give us minutes.
On the road we beat them by 2 in OT Dan's first season, by 12, and last year by 34. The other home victories for us were by 13, 14, and 28 points.
Dan's average margin of victory overall against SLU is 14.6, his average margin of victory @ SLU is 16.
Dan only faced Travis Ford once and that was last years game where we blew them out at the Ryan Center by 28.
I cannot wrap my head around what Vegas is possibly thinking with this line. I honestly may double my bet the more I look into this...
Their RPI is 198 with an SOS at 212.
BLOWN OUT by PC and Butler (27 and 30 points). Best win is by 6 at home to a down VT team (86th overall). Lost at home against #267 Detroit.
0-2 vs top 50. 1-1 vs 50-100. 2-4 vs 101-100. 4-1 vs 201+.
Seriously... I really cannot fathom what is going on here. They're hobbled and we may be without our 3rd leading scorer. Not to downplay Stan or anything of the like, but it's actually bothering me why the line is so low.

Re: THE EARLY LINE URI VS ST .LOUIS
Someone get Vegas on the horn and demand answers! I was actually supposed to be in Vegas for work today but the meeting was moved last minute; it's actually probably a good thing I'm not there, because I'd have put up all the cash I have access to on this line and skipped my flight out and probably would have had to take a red eye. Nightmare scenario.

Re: THE EARLY LINE URI VS ST .LOUIS
Guess I'll be the word of warning on this one...............
- I don't care much to look at recent history to decide who might or might not beat the point spread
- Travis Ford only in 2nd year, most all these players are new - they know almost nothing of any history, win streaks, losing streaks
- I don't think looking past SLU to Bonnies has anything to do with it. Bonnies lost 2, these guys play games one at a time - DH Coached teams do not let up no matter how Journalists might want to word it
- Travis Ford is a good head coach in my opinion - I know everyone doesn't share that
- My guess is 9,000 or more at this game tonight - good size crowd
- I saw Hasahn French in AAU. He is strong as can be. He is a beast, tough as nails and a mean streak in him. He will be a handful for our big men. He was ranked #90 ESPN and now has half a season under his belt. He is a guy we are not likely to like too much over the next 4 years - tough kid
- Jordan Goodwin was ranked #55 ESPN. Excellent player. My guess is Goodwin and Robinson go head to head or maybe EC takes on Goodwin. He is a player. Goes hard all the time.
- 2 Players in ESPN Top 100 Class of 2017 signed to the A10 and they both went to Saint Louis - no small feat
- DJ Foreman could very well have played himself into the starting line up after last game. He played 2 years at Rutgers. 6'8" 240 lbs - another tough big man
- This team has been hurt with "unnamed" players not playing due to S2. They have a small roster but that can be dangerous. A tough group of players, joined together under adversity - adversity has a way of bringing guys together, playing with an edge, like a caged animal.........
- This is a different team in St Louis then we are used to - a team on the rise. Already signed 6'8 260 lb #67 ESPN Ranked Carte'Are Gordon Class of 2018 - I know he isn't playing this year but this program is on the move - this is another example
- I look for SLU to be Top 3 in the Conference next season, and could make noise in the A10 Tournament
Personally I would not touch this game.

5,179 was the attendance. 6pm start time resulted in quite a few people arriving late. Normally SLU starts their games at 7pm. Covered the spread for some but the spread was as high as 9, then 7.5 before the game. You get the spread at the time you place the bet. It does not change to plants of people lost taking URI.steviep123 wrote:Man, that last free throw covered the spread....imagine if it was a miss?
