......no......let down of intensity.......step on their throat early and often......what to see one of this group to step up and make their presence felt; Akele, Cyril, Preston, mainly to give us more of a view to what can be.......
La Salle is not bad. BJ Johnson is obviously a monster, and Amar Stukes killed us last year (and just put up a season-high 20 against SLU).
I remember last year we came out of the gates in A10 play with blowout wins over Saint Louis and St. Joes and we all felt we had turned the corner and were finally clicking, and then the wheels started to come off with a tough road loss to Dayton and a home loss to this La Salle team that including one of the most brutal and frustrating halves of basketball as I've seen.
URI should win this game but this is the type of conference game people are talking about when they say that you never know in conference play, and that every team can be a tough out.
"If you build it, they will come." --Us, circa 2011
In the past it's been Chris DiSano as part of the team. If you don't know DiSano's record, get to know him. He has been covering the A10 for a few years now and is very solid. I'm not sure who has been with him.
Bleed Keaney Blue!

.......wonder what % they gave us last year?......all the more reason to not even give them a sniff at winning this year......a lookout A-10 beat down is in order......
Reminder of LaSalle's last visit to the Ryan Center last January. The Explorers led 43-22 at the break and the lead actually got even larger (up to 26) early in the second half before Rhody scored in garbage time to make the final margin much closer.
La Salle 87, Rhode Island 75: Explorers run Rams out of the Ryan Center
LaSalle was favored in Vegas by 5 points over Saint Louis on Dec 30 (without BJ Johnson expected to play). LaSalle beat SLU by 23 points.
Far from a crappy, cupcake, automatic win as last year's LaSalle debacle in the Ryan Center represents.
Some promotions for the game. We know about the 2 tickets for $18. URI students can bring their college friends from other schools. Just show a college ID and they get in or free. Also, first 1000 people get free Rhody winter hats.
Hmm so I'm a bit confused if I get my sister to go the game with her URI ID I can go for free? or is it only for friends who are students of other colleges?
Might wind up going anyways if the 9 buck student section ticket plan is on. I had to miss the Iona game because of work and I always sorta liked LaSalle as I nearly transferred there.
Would be lovely to have another GMU like game without play being stopped seemingly every 15 seconds!

My sister brought my brother last year when they did it. You need to have a college id from another school to get a free ticket
URI/the A-10 should use the lack of a major TV contract (Meaning not every game is televised on network) as a reason to provide excellent streams. To the credit of whoever is doing it this year it has been light years better then last years extremely shoddy effort. I'm sure there are plenty of techie and AV/Broadcasting students who would love to work on a project like this and the cost would actually be very reasonable for the University.. I know it's something I would be interested in working on if I were still a student.
IMO, on these streamed/cox games they should be done in at least native 1080p/60 and ideally 1440p/60 should be possible. Even for those without a highend PC monitor it will look amazing essentially super-sampled at 720p/1080p whilst also making 4k upscaling looking much nicer then the rather bad looking 720 upscaled to 4k.

Guys, every game thread we have a handful of redundant posts asking for streaming/TV info. In this case, Stevie posted the info saying stream is on A10 network/app a day or two ago and it's also in the official GoRhody game notes, posted just a few notches above.
Please check the thread for this info going forward.
Rhode Islanders really are special. It was "too cold" for my mom to attend the last game. Now a snow storm starting at 4am is holding some back for a 7pm tip. Just lazy. I remember now why I left Rhody for college and my professional career.
Breaking news: the roads will be plowed 24 hours after the storm and you'll be able to resume your normal life + probably survive on what's in your pantry.

BAD JOB ECR.. !
self-imposed "TIMEOUT" for me !
i use the lightning jack from iPhone and the quality is pretty darn good i must say
Haha, oh man that's so sad but true about RI people!
AS to the game itself, IMO the most important thing to watch will be how E.C plays. I've always felt his head/confidence was his biggest enemy. He can be the most maddeningly inconsistent URI star player I have ever seen.. Some days he just sits around the three point line for most of the game then forces bad shots or wild drives.
However, his last game was a great example of the player we all know he can be. No trying to play hero ball. Just utilizing his skills, and having confidence in his elite natural ability in order to take advantage of opportunities or create them for himself/others. If he continues to play like he did vs FCGU we are a legit top 20 or better team imo!
The Lasalle game is NOT listed as streaming on the Atlantic 10 site, only live stats. It IS listed on
both URI and Lasalle sites as being on Yourview streaming. I am not sure if we can get this stream
if you are not a cox subscriber or out of the cox area. I guess we will have to see. We confirmed
yesterday over the phone that the Atlantic10 Network was not showing the game. However they
said they were working on it with Cox. However, it is still not listed on their site as watch.

I was able to stream the last game on Yurview, so unless they changed something it should be fine for everyone.
Looks like I'm going now. Not that my fellow KB'ers kind comments nudged me in any direction. The same ones that don't in fact attend many games at all.

Prob a shot at me - that's fine. I live in Louisville, KY and have attended games in Dayton, Valporaiso, STL and the NCAA tournament in Sacramento in just the last 2 years. If only I lived closer to RI!
