I'm an Iona Alumni who follows the Gaels as much as i can so i'll try to give my thoughts. Gaels have lost a couple disappointing match ups so far but still should be the conference favorites in in a down year for the MAAC.
We should match up well vs them as traditionally Iona has struggled vs more Athletic teams that defend the three point line and rotate well. The biggest danger is if we have a really bad night shooting and let Iona get easy drives and open shots. If that happens we could easily be upset.
Size and athleticism wise Iona is lacking. TK Edogi is the only semi big man and after a strong start he has been invisible the last 5 games or so. Often your going to see lineups with no one taller then 6-5 in Iona jerseys.
Iona is shooting 39% from 3 point land this year including 20 made Three Point Shots yesterday so we need to make sure we do a good job contesting these. Thankfully defending the triple is maybe the biggest strength our D.
Overall i feel URI matches up very well here and baring us throwing up bricks all game and/or an otherwordly shooting game from Iona we should win by 10 + points and i expect many of our players to have strong statistical performances.
I think the URI guards will be able to get to the rim fairly effectively which is how you jump start a slumping offense. Iona doesn't do much to protect the rim. As you can see, a side-effect of playing Baron-style of defense is that teams will exploit their offensive strengths as their strengths are more than likely Iona's defensive weakness.

In case anyone still needs tickets i just got an email from groupon and they are offering 100 level tickets for this either game, FGCU, LaSalle, or UMASS for 10 bucks or 15 with a t-shirt.
We should continue to own these guys.
I would really like us to take advantage of their poor defense and get our offense going. Our guards really should be able to have a field day with them.
Perfect game for EC to get going.
Fatts could kill them...

yup, I'd also tell the bigs they arent getting help from the guards. cant start sagging off the shooters to double down on the block.
they wont win the game making 2s

Completely agree. Iona isn't any bigger than URI so Rhody's post players shouldn't struggle like they do against bigger, more physical interior players. This should be a game where it's truly man defense and everyone does their job (a la Belichick's mantra).
No letdown tonight. They need to come out with a purpose and take charge from the start. Hopefully the fight Charleston gave them will have them ready for this one. Go Rhody!

Does anyone know if Cox contour app has a download or stream for subxribers to watch on a Windows PC? I only see IOS and Android + links to specific websites that don't seem to include this channel it's on?
If i can find a cox broadcast link that runs on PC i might be able to set up a broadcast link for those w/o cox. But time is running out as i am very busy today.
I never understand why some companies are only making apps for mobile OS now. Yes more people use mobile but the vast majority prefer to use PCs/MAC for more "serious"computer things like watching a sporting event or doing work. Not to mention a monitor is a hell of alot nicer to watch on then a 2 inch wide phone screen.

If you go to the Contour website it will ask for your cox id and password. Once you sign in the site will push the app to your pc. I use it all the time.

its literally what they are, same idea as Navy in football having 1-2 passes per game.
All Iona does is run down and jack up the 1st 3 they can get, and on defense they basically let the other team score just so they can go shoot again as soon as possible. Team style cherry picking

Seems to work well enough to stay 'close' vs decent teams! Will NOT work against us, because we play great 3pt D
No steam. It worked last time now says flash not supported on my device. Another second rate product from this fucking school. Join the rest of the world and figure this out. True amateur hour.

Just a tip, for those getting the flash is not supported message, that is a browser thing and something you can enable in your settings. It has nothing to do with this specific stream. Just goggle "enable flash" for whatever browser you are using and you can find how to do it.
With that said, yeah this stream is still not working, and that is incredibly frustrating.
