Re: 10/28 | Buffalo Bulls | 1pm (exhibition)
I updated the OP to include a link to Bill's game preview from today's paper. When the thread was first posted, there was a space for this, but since the story wasn't out yet, it was empty. This will be the case going forward (the game thread will likely be posted before the game previews come out, and I'll update to include them when they do). I'm not going to announce that the OP has been updated every time, but know that you can look for stuff like that in the OP as we get closer to game day to save yourself trouble of scrolling thru the thread for it. I'll include any game previews I can find, including from the opponent's home media outlets. Please continue to post those things in the threads if you'd like, because that just makes life a little easier for me.

It's in the OP. I could tell you but I would prefer people get into the habit of looking at these previews for this type of information.

Thank you. I am a fact finder by nature. And I agree with you. Unfortunately, I did not know what Go Rhody was in relation to a radio Station or network.

I also went to GoRhody.com and there was no mention of a radio broadcast. Typical URI public release.

Taunting - clapped hard in ref and opponent ear.
No T was signaled I believe DH was arguing can’t call a double tech if player didn’t see first signaled. Would have been a monitor review in a regulation game.
JT looks real, real good btw.....

I like Fatts' game. A pest on D. Shows real poise. I know we'vE got good guards coming in, but he and Downton will do nicely next year.

Re: 10/28 | Buffalo Bulls | 1pm (exhibition)
Hopefully Dowtin and Robinson are just rusty. JD 0-9FG and SR 1-8FG in regulation.
By the stats, Buffalo should have easily won this game if not for their very poor ft shooting (13-31).
Dan will have lots of material from this game to use as teaching examples. Use this game as motivation that LY is over and press clippings mean little when the ball is jumped.

Disappointing to hear since this game is meaningless and he made big strides of improvement in that area ly. Hope he gets this out of his system before the real games start.

How did bigs look today.. Think a lot of people are underestimating the affect losing Has and K I is going to have on this season.. Are we really confident that Berry, Layssard, Preston and Tertsea will remotely replace these 2????

Rhody wins in OT 80-72. Only saw the stats. JT had a good game and was game high scorer with 24. Most impressive stat line in my view was Cyril who had 17pts, was 6-12 from the floor, 5-7 from the stripe, and had 8 rebounds. Wish fouling out in all games was not possible for him.

Kinda disappointing to see...had not seen him like that in quite a while. On a possible goal tend near the end, he went old-school and Cox had to bodyguard him...RF1 wrote:NYGFan_Section208 wrote:Hurls is not making any referee friends today...

Re: 10/28 | Buffalo Bulls | 1pm (exhibition)
It was nice to sit in 205, I can see why so many of you like it. I think the other people around me will be happy that I'm getting punted back upstairs for the regular season.
Preseason for everyone, refs included. We'll leave it at that.
Lots of sloppiness out there, not unexpected.
Jarvis looked really good. People are forgetting how he was in the A10 schedule his sophomore year.
Fatts is already becoming a fan favorite. The game gets much faster when he's out there. He needs to work on his shot selection, but that's not surprising.
Tertsea is buried. One of us fans might have had a better shot getting in. I don't think that's a good sign he didn't play at all.
Jared looked really good as others have mentioned. He could be in for a massive year

None of the bigs, other than Langevine, impressed. Berry was disappointing. Akele looked like last year. Preston hit two jumpers but didn't get many minutes. Tertsea anchored to bench. Layssard hurt.
Need someone to step up from this grouo.

Re: 10/28 | Buffalo Bulls | 1pm (exhibition)
We got 2 threads going hot here I guess. Confusing.
I'll stick to this one.....
Some random observations from great seats today!
-Excellent event, regular competition. Good show. I'd guess maybe 2500 showed up.
-Buffalo strong, fast and well coached. Perhaps a bit more "game plan" ready than we were. Jeremy Harris is an offensive machine. As tough to guard a player as we will see all year. Perkins is huge and skilled, though he fouled out a couple of times Caruthers is a good ball handler/distributor and quick. Athletic bunch, should win a lot of games in their league. They rolled out a steady bunch of athletic players. This could not have been a more perfect test for us at this point. Great scheduling by the staff. I suspect UBuffalo is just as pleased.
-Hrstrat57 officially renaming Fatts Russell. "FFast" Russell. Lightning quick and highly skilled. Made some freshman mistakes but is going to push for PT, I can easily see him getting 10/12 minutes a game. Did I say he was fast? Remarkably sound technique. I was shocked as were all the folks sitting around me.
-JG looked awesome, like a true senior. JT was fabulous other than his end of the first half fail I mentioned above. Elite play from him, truly elite. Robinson strong, especially attacking the rack at crunch time. Jeff looked a little lost today at times, seemed to struggle with the speed of the game at times but hit a key driving layup in overtime.
-Rhody burned multiple times by leak outs on transition defense. Hurley will have all the film he needs to correct this. With the team speed we have it is an easy fix.
-Failure to box out which resulted in overtime was horrific. Again, perfect teaching point for Hurley.
-We can expect next to nothing from the frontcourt. Langevine plays hard and is serviceable but this looks like a four guard team to me. I hope to see a lot of JT and maybe Robinson at the 4. Our goal should be 90 points a night and tighten up the transition defense. Should make for an entertaining season. We will have to run to win in my opinion.
Good show, I should get some Nikon pics up on my IG account tonight or tomorrow. Same handle.
Have a nice night folks, gonna be a fun season.

Yeah can Teresa be that bad that he can't even get on the court in an exhibition?

This is the most spot on post I’ve read here in months. Nice job. All I want to add is for people to realize that Buffalo recruits at a higher level than their conference nationally and they’ve been an NCAAT program for some time now.hrstrat57 wrote:We got 2 threads going hot here I guess. Re: 10/28 | Buffalo Bulls | 1pm (exhibition)
Langevine seemed to be more than serviceable at 17 and 8, against a legit front line. Our best lineup IMO will eventually include Preston, due to his size, athletic ability and skill set. Until then it will be 4 man by committee between Stan, Akele and at times Berry maybe.
Russell, JG and Dowtin are going to be a great rotation at the point. On any given night you go with the hot hand.
No use reading too much into a preseason exhibition.

Re: Exhibition vs Buffalo for hurricane charity
......well that was an interesting “game”......the refs shoulda got double game pay......we shot poorly, CL has improved a lot going strong to the offensive glass, JT couldn’t anything, Fatts is real quick and fearless, Preston didn’t do much, EC didn’t play, nor did Tertsea(why?) Mike L not dressed anyone know the info on that?......crowd size was disappointing I thought with coming off last year, general admission seating etc...... game to OT, we coulda lost folks......Buffalo not bad group.....Andre started and is gonna struggle again on to many defensive trips.....

Re: 10/28 | Buffalo Bulls | 1pm (exhibition)
Jarvis looked 100% and JT was in mid season form. I'm excited about Russell, though he has trouble defensively down liw on bigger guards. His man to man on the guard bringing up the ball is relentless.
I am definitely worried about the front court. Langevine worked hard and obviously our best front court player. I thought Akele outplayed Berry and Preston. Berry worked hard but lost his man defensively too often. Preston still looks like he's learning. He didn't get much chance to show off his athleticism. Tertsea didn't get in the game. Definitely garbage time material.
