Also imagine a super class, probably Rhody's best ever all committed by early October? We had so many years of looking for guys in April or May .

Gio, I was saying that same thing to someone, it's unheard of. A great class, and all signed before the season starts. Now staff can use that and another season of on-court success to be laser focused with our needs from 2019 class. And shoot for the stars, take some risks.

Re: '18 MD PF Jermaine Harris (URI Commit)
I was thinking about '19. If we sign Adams, we'll only have 1 scholly for '19. We can zero in on 6 or 7 highly rated players knowing only 1 can commit. Shoot for the moon with that 1 scholly in '19.bigappy leram wrote:Gio, I was saying that same thing to someone, it's unheard of. A great class, and all signed before the season starts. Its finally nice to not be waiting for the next class coming in for success. We had it last year, and we are set up for it this year. But this class coming in next year is something for sure!!!!

Cyril and Jermaine oh my.
If Tertsea at 6'10 could evolve into A10 quality as an upperclassmen we would have a scary front line.

Can you imagine? Totally transforming from having the best back court to possibly the best front court and still having plenty of guard talent.bigappleram wrote:Cyril and Jermaine oh my.

That's because Dan has built a program like none the school has ever seen. That's the only way to sustain success and that's why he has fought so hard for better facilities, charter flights and more staff. Because you need all of that to get better players.RF1 wrote:It would seem that Dan and staff are building off the momentum of the A-10 tournament championship and NCAA run. That success is not being wasted but looks to have been leveraged to our advantage. That was missing in the 1988 and 1998 NCAA runs and the opening of the Ryan Center. Those successes were not adequately built upon when the fire was hot. They ultimately ended up as wasted opportunities.

Re: '18 MD PF Jermaine Harris (URI Commit)
Articles about today’s announcement have Jermaine at 6’9”. Still growing!
Also his picture in Rhody uniform (#10) is Cyril’s #. Probably was one of the few jerseys that fit.
I am guessing he will take #1 next year after Jarvis graduates.

I've never seen him play, but someone who's opinion I respect has. He said Harris is a smart player and thought he was making a good decision to have Rhode Island and Xavier in his final two. Thought he would do well with either coach and their systems.
Congrats

I'm sure they told him they were announcing at 2:00 and wanted him to time it with the announcement. But he just dropped it at 2:00 even though the announcement took a few more minutes. Seems like it would have been cool of him to wait until the announcement was made to publish.URIRecruitingInfo wrote:TruePoint wrote:These analysts are always stepping all over these kids' moment. I believe he released it at 2:11. They could have told him to release after he saw the announcement on the live stream but they didn’t. Not his issue. It was coach’s mistake.TruePoint wrote:I'm sure they told him they were announcing at 2:00 and wanted him to time it with the announcement. Uh ok, man. I think a decent human being would have figured out how to do it in a way that didn't step on the kid's announcement. It is the attitude of a child to say "you didn't tell me to specifically do the thing in this exact way, therefore you can't be mad at me about it" as an excuse for doing the wrong thing. Defend that if you want, I guess. This was all about ensuring that he was "first" as if there are still losers out there keeping track of who is first, and he did it at the kid's expense.
This really doesn't matter at all at this point. Not sure why we are still talking about it.

I agree. He can blame whoever he wants but he released it and the world saw it earlier than they really should have.TruePoint wrote:Uh ok, man. ✔ @AdamFinkelstein
Not that your tweet deserves a response but dropped it right when they asked me to.
and to act like this guys tweet does not deserve a response was pretty cruel because many people were thinking the same thing. Bottom line is it should not have been released early. Finkelstein wants to blame others and not take any responsibility.
Anyway, we got our guy.

So my question is...when did he make his decision to have enough time to cut that Lamar Odom / URI / highlight reel? That wasn't anything you could throw together in a few hours.

I'm pretty sure URI cut that and sent it to him as part of their pitch. The LeBron one was Xavier's, you could see their logo in the lower left hand corner...bigappleram wrote:So my question is...when did he make his decision to have enough time to cut that Lamar Odom / URI / highlight reel? Tom Moore ? don't count your chickens until the eggs are hatched, he has not proved anything thus far. He doesn't have one player on the current roster, or any player in the forseable future. Moore hasn't been here long enough to have recruited '18s. The only possibilities were players that were being recruited to Q like Balanc. I'm sure he's in on some good '19s and '20s. No one is taking anything away from what Coach Cox has done. We all know he has done a phenomenal job.Rhodymadness401 wrote:Tom Moore ? don't count your chickens until the eggs are hatched, he has not proved anything thus far. He was hired in June, which means he has more then enough time to get his feet wet, not saying he won't do well in the future, but I feel like everyone else ex; Cox, Boswell had to prove that you could get players not live of what you have done in the past. Cox has (3) J. Harris, A. Harris, T. Martin of the 4 committed players, Boswell has (1) Tate, as well as R. Preston ('17). Tom has to show his worth with all due respect.

You don't build recruiting relationships in less than 4 months. I guarantee you Dan had him on '19s and '20s once he started recruiting, except for someone who he already had a relationship with like Balanc. You have a personal problem with Moore or something?
