F Jermain Harris, Clinton Christian — The 6-foot-9 forward proved with DC Premier’s under-16 team this summer that he can be much more than a rebounder . Blending an improved offensive touch with the physicality he had already established, Harris earned his first three scholarship offers from Seton Hall, Providence and Rhode Island last month. His emergence, along with the impending transfer of former O’Connell guard Sharrif Kenny, should turn the Eagles into a contender again in the Capital Beltway League.
Recruitment: Miami, Pitt, Georgia, Georgetown, West Virginia, Tennessee, Seton Hall and Rhode Island.
His day: Harris began his day in fine fashion and ended it in a similar manner he competed with a much better motor than we are used to seeing. He is beginning to learn when he should score inside rather than play first out on the perimeter. A versatile power forward with a college ready body, Harris has top-75 talent and on Saturday, looked the part, just as well.
Quote: “I will be making a cut my list when I get back from L.A. I want to cut it down to a final seven. I will probably take my visits after July and committing in November.”
Prediction: Look for a cut list from Harris within the coming weeks but for Miami and West Virginia to be two of the heaviest of favorites prior to a fall signing with the DC Premier product.

Yeah guys. Where's the excitement? This a 4 star power forward. When was the last time we recruited one of those out of high school? If we got him, we could then concentrate on SG's and SF/wing types types for the rest of the class.

Harris sounds like he's just what the doctor ordered.
Big boys getting involved is problematic, as it
usually is.
However, if you don't try to get a kid like this,
you never will.
F*ck Alacki, DarthFriar, DirtyBeanFriar94, xCoachK, Boxworth, Friar Faithful, bicycleicycle, Matt_Keough, Patrick Norton, the Rosato brothers, and especially Benjamin Lord !
Would be a tremendous get. Hopefully, with these few players that have visited in last few days, we can get a couple. Harris, on paper is certainly most intriguing IMO. I really think Moore and Boswell will have excellent impact, with some time as well. And of course Cox has done a great job.
If he wants the bigger conference, he can certainly get it, but the development of Martin and then Langevine is a nice path to show any prospect. Martin initially got his chance on a team that wasn't very good and eventually led the team to a championship. Langevine's play showed a freshman could get minutes and contribute almost immediately on a winning team.

Are they even allowed to verbal while on campus? I know there are certain rules about what recruits can do on campus, and I think giving a commitment was considered something they couldn't do.

Like I said before, they might have to wait until Saturday at the earliest to verbal if they are EE's.
Would be nice if we could get a couple before they go on official visits. A good sign would be if a recruit doesn't schedule another visit after he visits here.
They cannot sign a LOI while on campus but I guess they can give a verbal wherever and whenever.

Gio, what's the connection on this article? It doesn't mention Harris...
I'm guessing it was posted because Maryland is a school that Harris has talked about.
Yes, that's all I was pointing out Ace. Thanks. It said in an earlier post Maryland was added to his list late, just hoping this would put a damper on Terps chances.
Looking quickly at their roster, they seem to be in line to lose two players after this coming season and they've already filled at least one spot now. Does this mean they're no longer interested in Harris? Was Harris a backup plan if they didn't get Smith? Who knows, but it would seem we might not be battling Maryland as hard for Harris now.

I spent an hour looking for evidence. Lots of stories about URI, but nothing recent about Georgetown. Even if he visited doesn't mean recruiting is over.
