Re: Game # 34 NCAA Tournnment Creighton
I have no real way of knowing this but I would bet money that URI is the first game played in Sacramento on Friday at 2. Why? Because Oregon is more likely to play in the later game. And the play in winner is in the other pod so they're likely to get a night game to give them more rest.
In fact I'll go as far as saying it's 99% that URI either plays at 2 or 4:30. There's no way they're going to have a team play in Dayton at 9:10 and then in Sacramento less than 2 days later.
EDIT: I didn't realize that Kansas State/Wake is on Tuesday. So the URI game could be at night.

Re: Game # 34 NCAA Tournnment Creighton
Wonder if Preston gets the scout for Creighton in the game?
They have Justin Patton, 7' freshman, who could be a high NBA pick.
Marcus Foster, a junior guard has taken over the point.
He's kind of a smaller Jared Terrell.
Other than Patton, the Bluejays don't have a lot
of size.
They love the 3s.
McDermott is a good coach.

Agree absolutely. Pretty close scenarios. Another instant, similar resumes, but PC beat Marquette twice in the final month and finished higher in the league. VCU, ridiculous. Though I would hate to be in that dreaded 8-9 game.bigappleram wrote:Marquette seeded higher than PC is a sham

Creighton is 7-8 since losing Watson. They do have a win at butler during that time. Other 6 wins DePaul x2, at home against Georgetown and St. John's, and PC and X in the BE tourney

Re: Game # 34 NCAA Tournnment Creighton
I wouldn't say they are small either. Patton is a very skilled 7 footer. Could be a lottery guy at some point. Haven't seen that before. Cole Huff is 6-8, Toby Hegner 6-10 and Zach Hanson also around 6-9 or 6-10. And Marcus Foster isn't exactly a small Terrell. May weight 5 or 10 lbs less, but not tiny. 6-3 himself and strong enough. Very good player. Creighton is certainly not the team they were with Watson. At that point they were a potential final 4 squad. But I wouldn't consider them a weak team either. Thomas also a very good athlete and plays bigger than 6-3. They can shoot it and score the ball. With that being said, regardless of who we were to draw, there are going to be some good players and some obstacles we'll have to face. Thats March.rodfromcranston wrote:Wonder if Preston gets the scout for Creighton in the game?

Wonder if Cooley will give Dan any type of scouting report? He is very good friends with McDermott.

How early do they typically hold the press conferences in advance of the games, 1 or 2 days? Curious if the Tuesday weather situation will play into when the flight has to leave for Sac-town. If the press availability is only 1 day in advance then they can wait until later Wed to leave if need be.

Oof, no doubt. I figured SFO or OAK would be a better rate but at least via Southwest this is not the case! My things have changed over the past 10 years since I did back to back years visiting friends and going to Sox games out there. Plus I detest OAK airport since I somehow forgot an expensive pair of sunglasses at security and got NO LOVE from the employees there while I tried to go back to search. Last time I spent more than $10 on sunglasses that's for sure.BleedBlue87 wrote:Flights to Sacramento are so expensive!

I travel to the area all the time for work. I haven't looked at flight yet, but try Santa Rosa, Oakland or SFO. You'll still have to rent a car a drive 2 hours but if it saves you money, let me know.
And if anyone truly is going that route, let me know and I'll see what I can do to potentially help out with the rental car. I work in the automotive industry and will gladly put forth any goodwill to help a fellow Rams fan. DM me.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but the game will probably start around 4:30 pm. It is the second game of Friday afternoon. Oregon/Iona at 2 followed by Rhody/Creighton. It will be on TBS:
http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men ... t-schedule
Also, if Providence gets by USC, they'll tip at 3:10 pm on Friday. Kind of sucks for the locals that want to watch both games.
