I assume Joe is saying this with other bubble games in mind and accounting for their outcomes.woodennickel1 wrote:I get a kick out these guys they say this team will be in with a win here another team will be in with a win also . I know we need to win, Im not ignoring that, but this is fun. CBS has URI moved up to a 10 seed with PC in their latest bracket.

Thank God this is speculation and not the results because idk if my body would be able to take that kind of pregame hype/stress IF(!!!!!) they ever met.
But for now all we care about is trying to get in. ONE GAME AT A TIME AND WE CAN DO THIS.

They should all be like Dickie V. He thinks every team on the bubble deserves to be in. I guess it keeps him popular with every fan base.

I hate when the womens scores on the crawl screens trick me. I thought Wichita St was losing to Drake but then I saw Drake was ranked 22. Anyways win the next two and we dancing

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
I don't think we'd have been on over vandy even with a loss. Cal and Georgia and Illinois losing helped us because we have a better resume than them at the moment.
No matter what we still have to win or all of this is moot. Win our next 4 and the committee will only have to decide where we play.

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
Do not get your hopes up. URI is not getting an at large. It pissed that away with no win in three December games vs Valpo, PC, and Houston, the choke job gift win vs Dayton at home, and the no effort RC losses vs LaSalle and Fordham. The committee will not pick a team from a league such as the A-10 with blemishes as URI has. They will always look to deny teams like URI for one reason or another and pick a P5 conference school.

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
Yeah Illinois UGA and Cal losing really gives us some room to breathe.
Vandy will likely lose in the conference tournament so they're still going to have to be the first team with 15 losses to get in the tournament as an at-large.
Now we need Wake GT and USC to lose.

PC has more blemishes than we do losing to BC St Johns at home and DePaul. Even if we beat those teams, none listed are too 50 teams currently.RF1 wrote:Do not get your hopes up. If we win our next 3 we probably over 90 % in assuming nothing funny happens around the country

Has a team above us in the bubble lost? I don't think so. Wake Forest needs to lose. But we are no better today at this point than we were yesterday.

Hard to tell when Lunardi is talking about "in if today was selection Sunday" or in come the real selection Sunday. Probably the former and we would be in his bracket tonight with win.

I think Lunardi has a realistic view - he has seen this Rhody team in the past 2 decades choke in ever which way possible. If he wants to see it to the end before handing it to us, I completely understand.

Being 1st out, there isn't a lot of room above us.....it's going to be tough....and if there are any bid stealers it will be tougher....we could move a couple spots lower in that "first four out" category if that happens.
Winning thru to the finals has to happen, and even then it will be close.

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
There will be a lot of shuffling once the major Conference tournaments get rolling next week. The opening round games are huge for a lot of teams. This week we separate the men from the boys.
One week from today is the BIG day.

Re: 2016-17 Bracketology
I've always felt that instead Lunardi giving us some love with his A 10 roots, he doesn't really care for us . With his Martelli connection.Billyboy78 wrote:Wasn't Lunardi the one who said we'd be in if we won last night? I mean, I didn't agree with it, but I'm pretty sure he's the one who said it.
One thing I'll say is I hear all this talk about top 100 wins. I've seen brackets where Wichita St is not in if they don't win their conference tournament. You can use URI, Wich St, Ill St, VCU and try to tell me that they all wouldn't have a few top wins if they were playing in the BE or Big 10 with those schedules. Any mid major misses a couple opportunities in December they can be doomed. Let them play PC, Marquette, SH, NW, Mich St, Ark or teams like that twice every year and there is no doubt in my mind even the Rams would have a few more top wins.
