very important game from the standpoint of getting the double bye...Lasalle has an easy remaining schedule(umass,st louis, fordham) and if we were to lose to them they would own the tiebreaker

Leaving in a couple of hours for sunny Florida....won't be back until next Wed. Knocking off a big bucket list item.....Daytona 500.
Will read the board a couple of times.....but not post.
Good luck against LaSalle and VCU....hope we still have at least a little teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini bit of hope for an at large after those two.

URI now leads the A10 in:
- 3 point FG% defense
- Blocks shots per game = 6.9 bpg ( Martin with 2.2 bpg and Iverson with 1.7 bpg)
- Assists / Turnover Ration. Dowtin leads the entire A10 with 3.5 TO ratio. 42 assists and 12 turnovers)
URI is 2nd in Offensive Rebounding. Led by Iverson with 2.8 Offensive rpg and Langevine with 1.9 Offensive rpg
Let's hope we can continue to leverage these capabilities vs LaSalle tonight

We are last in foul shooting, they are close to first. They have made many more threes. We are first defending them. Should be interesting. Go rhody!

This team needs to have a one game at a time mentality. Especially our coach. Stop bringing up Fordham or Dayton. Who cares about VCU. Beat LaSalle.
ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

Enough of the "must win" games. I thought the Dayton games were must win? Wasn't Richmond must win? After losing at home Dayton, didn't the rest of the schedule become must win? And then they lost to Fordham.reef wrote:This is a must win game for us let's get the job done boys and girls

Well it has changed from "ok, it's leaves us little margin for error in league play, we can only lose 3 games in conference at the most now" type comments after the Valpo, PC and Houston losses.

But it's "ok" if some of us don't put the fork in yet. It really is.

Plus, apparently PMMM hasn't noticed that pretty much all bubble teams have been losing. It's almost like getting into the tournament is actually a sliding scale based on what other teams are doing as well.

and RR2, no different than every year. The teams on the bubble move on and off the bubble frequently, but the really big bubble changes happen in the Conference Tournaments - always some big, medium and small surprises when the Conf Tourney's begin and finish. This is the time of year that truly makes NCAA Basketball so much fun - no way to predict some of the surprises we will endure between now and selection Sunday.

Re: Game #27: @ La Salle Tuesday Feb 21, 6:00PM CBSSN
Just a reality that if you want to be in the NCAA tournament there are 20+ must win games. Yes the Fordhams and Daytons are equally must wins in college basketball.
Its not the NFL where 7-9 can win the AFC South and then make a run at the AFC Title game.

Re: Game #27: @ La Salle Tuesday Feb 21, 6:00PM CBSSN
Down year across the board. Not a traditional year. URI can play their way in.
Outside of the winning out and make it deep in the A10 tournament people, which I count myself among.
I think that if URI wins out, they will have a big chance to win the A10 tournament because confidence is key. They would have a little mystique. VCU drops the URI, Dayton, then George Mason game and URI is #2. That sets up VCU playing Dayton and URI having a clear road to the final with a Richmond/Bonnies/type team in their way.
Im hoping for that to happen.
It would mean seeing stuff we haven't seen. When is the last time URI had a 5-7+ game winning streak? Dan would have to take a step forward. The confidence would pay off in years to come if they can believe from experience that they are that good.
