Re: Tip off classic against Cincy?
I called yesterday. Tickets should go on sale at about the same time as last year which was Friday September 11th.
Should be the weekend before Thanksgiving based on last year's tournament

Re: Tip off classic against Cincy?
Awesome! Can't believe they are having us play Cinci first. They'd typically have the small A-10 school go up against The top team i the tournament, but i guess they realized that Penn State sucks and URI and Cinci are more on the same level. So now we get a chance to get a marquee win and then knock off Duke in the championship.

Re: Tip off classic against Cincy?
Can someone confirm if this is actually the first game of the season for URI or if URI is bringing in some creampuffs like Maine or UNH first for a beat down. I would like a couple tune up games before we have to play Cincy.

I'd imagine they will host a creampuff on Friday Nov 11 or Saturday Nov 12 like they usually do and maybe another one at home mid week before the tip off tournament next weekend.STC wrote:Can someone confirm if this is actually the first game of the season for URI or if URI is bringing in some creampuffs like Maine or UNH first for a beat down. We will probably play two or three games before that tournament. Two of the teams are going to be either, Albany, Marist, Grand Canyon or Brown.

There's no indication we'll be playing Brown as part of this tournament as of now. Also, we've played them at all different points of the non conference schedule, including as a home opener in the Ryan Center era.

Just to let you know Grand Canyon was 23-6 this year and had a better RPI then URI. They are coached by former NBA player Dan Majerle.

I believe the two on campus games will be. The two Mohegan games should be separate.MARhody wrote:Any idea if the tip off classic games will be part of the season tickets?

I believe TruePoint's objection is due to Grand Canyon's for profit model.woodennickel1 wrote:TruePoint wrote:#anyonebutgrandcanyon

I have no inside information on this but I will almost guarantee we don't play Brown as part of the Tourney. It will be a separate home.

Brown probably wouldn't agree to play with us so they could go play @Duke and @Cinci or Penn state as well as getting to play us as usual.
3 games where they can be on the big stage just to get their ass beat.
We will probably play Albany and Marist.
Hopefully we can play GCU though for RPI purposes

Tickets go on sale Sept 9th, I'm trying to figure out pricing for both days. Low end appear to be $10 and $25 but I think that's for each day. Does anybody know for sure?

Re: Tip off classic against Cincy?
The games are 19th and 20th at Mohegan, and I believe the other home games are part of the season ticket package.
There was a request period for donors for the Mohegan tickets, and they were $150/session for courtside, $75/session for the lower court bowl, $25/session for the endzone bowl, and $15/session for up top.
Looks like the donors were all put in that $75 category, so if you put in with that you'll be with me, the wifey, studs, atp, uri96, mich st and im sure a few others.

Does anyone know if the 65 dollar price tag for the lower level is 65 dollars per day, or 65 dollars total for the four games Rhody Cincy Penn St Duke are involved in?

$65 per day. Fees and what not got it up to $75 for me. Each ticket is good for both games on that day.Rhody15 wrote:Does anyone know if the 65 dollar price tag for the lower level is 65 dollars per day, or 65 dollars total for the four games Rhody Cincy Penn St Duke are involved in?

I just realized if you have a citi card then you can take part of the pre sale that's going on now. I'm buying my tickets tonight. Not many seats left if what is showing as open is all that is left.

Just booked my tickets for the game, all eleven tickets in all. Trying to get some people to become URI fans! There wasn't much selection left, I'm at midcourt but 3rd and 2nd last rows in the arena and that's the best I could get.

For people without the citi card do the tickets go on sale Sept 9th or 19th? On the site I saw both dates on different pages.

Interesting that their are better seats available today then there were during the presale.. The $10 corner seats first few rows second tier are a great deal. Hopefully the college students see those and scoop them up.

Re: Tip off classic against Cincy?
We went to a concert a few years ago, and it's a bit tricky to find since you have to traverse the casino to get in (at that time, at least). Regular parking is free. Valet parking may not be. The degenerates on this board (just kidding) may know better

I think Mohegan is the best place that I've ever been to watch a game. The casino itself has lots of bars and restaurants which just adds to it and the arena is great, not a bad seat in the house.

Does anyone think it has a chance to sell out? I thought the first day of sales was good and Duke and Cincy fans probably travel well, especially Duke. On top of that the casino draw is good for some.
