No BE Championship game for PC as Bentil and Dunn disappear but Cartwright and Bullock played well.

Is Dunn still sick or hurt?
He hasn't been himself for a while....PC isn't going very far without him at 100%
Looks like they might be in the 8-9 game. Maybe win one, and out.

They still have gone longer without an NCAA win than us. I am hopeful that streak continues for them.

We amazingly almost had two halfcourt buzzer beaters, but Buddy Hield's was in his hand still as time expired. Oklahoma loses to West Virginia 69-67 as a result. Crazy day in college and pro hoops. (Warriors put up 81 against the Blazers... in the first half.)

St. Bonaventure will be sweating it out on Sunday night.
That loss could cost them a bid. It will be close.

Houston was the #2 seed in the AAC but lost shockingly to Tulane last night in the quarterfinals. Tulane was 3-15 in the AAC. 13-26 on FTs hurt Houston.

Nobody is saying he was injured or sick as Dunn played all 40 minutes. 1-8 FG. 7-11 FTs. PC had only 1 steal (by Bentil) and 13 turnovers.rambone 78 wrote:Is Dunn still sick or hurt?

Bentil,is,believed by some to have been favoring his leg and not running full speed. Some said Cooley put Bentil back in too soon with 4 fouls as he fouled out with 10 minutes to go.

WV's defense is very disruptive, and our old friend Holton is the point man in their trap.

Here is lunardi's most recent release
Still has St Bonaventure as a 10 seed now playing BE Seton Hall
Bonaventure is listed among the last 4 byes
Davidson is in the second 4 out so they must win today against VCU
Shows PC playing USC
He has Stoney Brook winning against Vermont today - I think Vermont wins

Re: Selection Sunday and Conference Tournament Updates
Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best one - Villanova is really effing good. They're going to be a #1 seed. Sometimes really good players like Dunn and Bentil are going to make shots anyway, but if you're playing PC, you can gear your defense toward trying to shut them down and letting anyone else beat you.ramster wrote:Nobody is saying he was injured or sick as Dunn played all 40 minutes. 1-8 FG. 7-11 FTs. Re: Selection Sunday and Conference Tournament Updates
I don't think Villanova is that much better than PC. Shoot, PC and two first team all BE players in Dunn and Bentil and neither demonstrated 1st team performances. Some due to defense but guys like these two have produced even when strongly defended just not last night.SGreenwell wrote:Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best one - Villanova is really effing good. My guess is Seton Hall beats Villanova and no #1 seed for them.

Another #1 seed bites the dust.

The A10 championship has a new blood versus old blood A10 component.
I sort of want Joes to beat VCU because VCU thinks they own the A10.

Right. That loss to Seton Hall killed that and rightfully so.
Plus 5th ranked Xavier lost in the conference tournament too.
BE needed to have Nova and Xavier in the Championship game to maximize the highest level seeds.

Obadiah,
What do you think of those teams for Providence?
I think two dangerous teams likely 13 seeds who will play 4 seeds will be Chattanooga and Steven F Austin. Both are very capable of the upset.

Right, this show is brutal with the bantering. This is going to take two hours.
Really like the match-ups in Providence. Hope to see Wichita State make it to play Arizona. Big chance for Yale to upset Baylor given the circumstances in their making the NCAA plus the short ride up I-95 for their fans.

Texas Tech too. They were 9-9 in conference.bigappleram wrote:St Bonaventure got iced, in lieu of Syracuse, Tulsa, Michigan.

Re: Selection Sunday and Conference Tournament Updates
Bonas threw their game away vs Davidson and they paid for that dearly, that took them out of the at large picture in my opinion, they had literally no good out of conference wins and did lose to Syracuse. PC gets hosed by having to face UNC in Raleigh, but they have a gift match up with USC and should finally get that long awaited ncaa win.ramster wrote:Texas Tech too. A win over St. Bonaventure is worth more than actually being them. Syracuse gets credit for a "top 30" win for beating STB helping them get in. Hey, whatever we here in the A10 can do to help.
I know the NCAA is afraid of the football schools breaking off on their own but even the middle tier football schools from the AAC getting love.

If I was a Saint Bonaventure fan I would be sick. No way in the world does the cappy American conference deserve four teams. Also not sure why people are saying PC got screwed I am a PC fan and was expecting an 8/9 game.URI2006_Andy wrote:A win over St. Bonaventure is worth more than actually being them. Re: Selection Sunday and Conference Tournament Updates
A closer look at the Saint Bonaventure schedule shows they really had no decent wins out of the conference. If you match up their resume against all the teams that made it from the American conference there really is no argument, Saint Bonaventure didn't deserve a bid, their RPI was not indicative of their performance on the court.woodennickel1 wrote:If I was a Saint Bonaventure fan I would be sick. Re: Selection Sunday and Conference Tournament Updates
That loss to Davidson in the quarters really hurt them.
Still, with an RPI of 29, that's half of Tulsa's number.
Tulsa getting in was bullshit. I kind of expected Syracuse and Michigan to get in, but them?
As a mid major though, you got to play [and beat] some good teams OOC, or you get the short stick against the P5 schools come selection time......

Re: Selection Sunday and Conference Tournament Updates
I don't understand why committee gives special consideration to Syracuse when their head coach was serving a fing NCAA suspension.
The suspension is supposed to hurt the coach and his school, but apparently it's ok to lose games when cheating coaches are sitting out a suspension. Wtf

Re: Selection Sunday and Conference Tournament Updates
Two things hurt the Bonnies. First, the loss to Davidson in Brooklyn, Two, their OOC SOS was 152 which ranked in the bottom half of the conference and their 8-3 record included two bad losses to Hofstra and Siena. Tulsa, on the other hand played a stronger OOC schedule and their 8-4 record included only one bad loss to Oral Roberts.
I still think the Bonnies got screwed and they get the award for having the best RPI and not invited to the tournament. URI won this same award several years ago.

More importantly, did Dickie V go on a rant about this?
He usually does for someone who's left out, usually a mid major.
