We are so incredibly lucky to have Dan Hurley leading our men's program.
Let's go win that league championship and get in the NCAA Tournament!

Dan Hurley is not only a great floor coach, he is great at selling his program. He gets you excited for the season
like nobody else. Now I am really ready for the season after reading this, but it is going to make 2 months feel
like a year. Anticipation, waiting, patience .It is so hard right now with expectations sky high! Bring it on!

Looking on Twitter it seems some bad news might be coming down the pipe for Dayton.

Re: The Upcoming 2015-16 Season!
Trying to read between the lines of the Blackburn Review account, it seems like there's a rumor going around Dayton of a player being involved in a sexual assault. When people were asking about specific players the account holder would shoot it down but when someone asked if it was the Canadian the account holder answered no comment, indicating it might be Pierre.

It's so easy to paste in Tweets and links to source material on this board. Please consider doing that to help us catch up with your understanding of this situation.

Unfortunately it's not easy at all to do it from my phone. Again, you can find it on the Blackburn Review twitter account, some of the tweets were also retweeted by a10 talk. When I have access to a regular computer tomorrow I'll post the links if they haven't been posted on here in the meantime.

OK, I guess that's a decent reason. I'll look through Blackburn's timeline to see if I can pick some of those tweets out.

Looks like we've got Blue Ribbon's pre-season's national player of the year coming to the RC on the first Saturday in December.

Not shocking at all. Will probably wind up close to that anyway. Would be a great measuring stick to see what our guards can do about Dunn.Billyboy78 wrote:Looks like we've got Blue Ribbon's pre-season's national player of the year coming to the RC on the first Saturday in December.

Re: The Upcoming 2015-16 Season!
Who are the A10 POY candidates? of the five returning players from the A10 all 1st team and 2nd team we have..
EC Matthews (2ndTeam All A10)
Hassan Martin (2nd Team All A10)
Deandre Bembry (1st Team All A10)
Jack Gibbs (2nd Team All A10)
Brian Sullivan (2nd Team All A10)
Jordan Price (2nd Team All A10)
Dyshawn Pierre (2nd Team All A10)
For purposes of not speculating I have not added the Scoochie Smith's/Pollard(most improved) or ... bunch of other guys that could really step up this year from a ton of teams(Garino).
For that list, which I think is fair because it plucks who is left from the #1 and #2 award teams that were chosen by the A10. We have almost 30% of it.
Further, considering that the league picks front runners and weighs heavy the team's success and past season success(see Briante Weber DPOY Last year). I think we have a potential POY, even more I think we have a serious potential POY battle that will take place on our own team.
Good health and the POY race can be played out just in Kingston.

I also think Dan has proven that he wont stand for any of that. See those who have been "encouraged" to leave the program.

Re: The Upcoming 2015-16 Season!
For those who can't make it to a lot of games like me, Coxhub is offering a season pass (9 games) of streaming rhody hoops for $22.50. Pretty good deal if you have paid for streaming in prior seasons.
Below is the link to the deal, its only good through 10/15/15.

Oh man, really enjoyed listening to Coach Hurley on the Zags podcast. Entertaining and informative. Straight shooter.
You can tell he loves Hass.
He also seems to be comfortable with Iverson and is challenging him to really bring his talent to the bright lights of college basketball under the structure and culture of the URI program.

HaHa sorry KMac. How dare they market to the north east without PeeSee on the cover!!
When are these "sports journalists" going to get it? PC is a lousy school that almost literally has nothing going for it, if it's basketball program wasn't big east, PC would have nothing redeeming about it, it's an ugly, tiny campus with about 100 square feet of grass, surrounded by neighborhoods through which I wouldn't walk my dog. Look at college life all around it here in the north east, every institution has expanded and flowered, new academics, new facilities. Colleges have become universities (RWU, Bryant U) and then there's PC doing nothing to bring itself into this century but living on the illusion of its basketball glory days. So Sad. And the denial is overwhelming, people around here still think it's a "good" school, you can get a better education with a laptop and a spot using the WiFi at Panera or better yet save the laptop money and use the computers at you local library.

EC and Hassan have just been teenagers this whole time. They're still growing! I'm 21 and I feel a huge difference between how I felt physically and mentally two years or even one year ago.

As a present, here's this quote from his coach (in Blue Ribbon)-
“He’s 100 percent healthy now and had an amazing last few weeks of the summer with his playmaking, passing, shot selection, and explosiveness,” Hurley said. “He’s a potential player of the year in our league.”

Re: The Upcoming 2015-16 Season!
So the only road games that will not be televised on TV as of now are at St Bonnies and at Brown. Although I'm confident it will get picked up, I'm surprised OSN doesn't have the Brown game scheduled to be shown right now.
Also, GoRhody.com took off the ESPNU listing for the PC game. Wonder what's up with that...

Re: The Upcoming 2015-16 Season!
I should mention that the replays are usually lower resolution than the actual game. I remember the streams getting to be truly HD when streamed later in the season. Nebraska game was more like SD 480p widescreen.
