"Dayton and Rhode Island are certainly going to be very very good." I like it.

Still happy with which former NEC coach you got, Duquesne fans?

I dont particularly like Lonergan, but his starting 5 sounds pretty good this year - and the rule changes are dumb.

They're a tourney team this year and Jorgensen is my pick for 6MOY.

Re: Chris DiSano's Summer Sitdown Series @ CoxHub
How about Four for a three (pointer) and Four for 6MOY............ I'm hearing he is the real sharpshooter we have been looking Four and will be a big help.

Hearing the same, a sharp shooter with 5th year senior experience immediately makes us better in the last 2 minutes. One of our weaknesses the last two years. Could be a vital role player on a good team.

Yeah I think he's been overlooked a little in all of the talk next season. Should be a huge asset.

Why is he so hateable? I can't quite place it, but there is something about him that makes him so punchable.adam914 wrote:I can't wait to actively hate Watanabe again all season!

The beauty of it is in its irrationality.TruePoint wrote:Why is he so hateable? I can't quite place it, but there is something about him that makes him so punchable.adam914 wrote:I can't wait to actively hate Watanabe again all season!

It's perfectly rational. He's a tall skinny spot up shooter who flops all the time. Plus his celebrations are exaggerated and annoying.

Yeah that's really what it was. That one game he was just flopping like crazy and whining non-stop.860_rhody wrote:It's perfectly rational. He's a tall skinny spot up shooter who flops all the time. Plus his celebrations are exaggerated and annoying.

I walked by the GW team in the hotel during the A10 tournament and I expected Watanabe to flop to the ground and writhe around in pain when I walked by him with my Rhody sweatshirt on.

That guy sounds like everything I'd want in a basketball coach. Think we'd be able to get him?

Blueman, I am guessing this quote resonated well with you
"We train hard and trust our training. We're not going to put too much pressure on ourselves but we want to win the league championship and we want to be an NCAA Tournament team."

Re: Chris DiSano's Summer Sitdown Series @ CoxHub
Have to like this about Iverson:
"DH: What we like most is the way that he carried himself up through Summer Session 2. He acclimated well to our culture, he didn't try to make us adjust for him. He knows how we work, he understands how we operate in terms of work ethic, the way we carry ourselves, on and off the court. And that impressed me. I was also impressed with how far his play came from the first practice he jumped into, to the end of the summer."
Hurley's teams pretty reliably conduct themselves well, and it usually makes them easy to root for. He relates well to his players- they're allowed to be individuals and there's an understanding that, because of their ages, they're going to make mistakes and do the occasional stupid thing. Still, whether it's Tristan Thompson or Jordan Hare, nobody is going to be bigger than the team and ruin it for everyone else.
