URI Men's Hockey is having their annual Purple Out at the Boss at 7PM, and you can definitely see at least the 3rd period if you take the short walk to the Boss after the basketball game before you hit the bar. The Purple Out is done in cooperation with the College of Business and the Matty Fund to raise money to fight epilepsy.
Last year there were nearly 900 people there, and the team raised a boatload of money for the fund. The hockey games (and the Purple Out in particular) are tons of fun, and Rhody is as usual a monster this year sitting #9 in the nation with a 12-2-2 record. Perfect way to end a trifecta day of URI sports with soccer, basketball and hockey (Rams hockey face conference foe West Chester). If you're in the area, please come down and support the team and the cause after the basketball game!

Since people will be in Kingston tomorrow, the men's hockey team will be taking on the division 2 Assumption College Greyhounds at Boss Arena at 5pm. Tickets are $5.
Take down the Robert Carothers banner and fix the concession stand lines

Now we Are beating NCAA D II clubs....
Wish we could get a couple Atlantic hockey D 1 clubs in here but that prob won't happen...... Should tho if the league really wants rhody to take a bid....

Re: HOCKEY: Since you'll already be in Kingston tonight
I would like to see rhody take on some division one clubs. I know assumption technically is division two but they are in the only conference that considers themselves division two. The NCAA does not sponsor a division two championship. Most schools are either division one or division three. I don't take much from another win against assumption who is essentially a division three opponent. And a weak one at that (4-19-2) last season, and (6-9) so far this season. Still good for the team, hopefully we can see some lower level division one schools come here and compete.

27-4
This team not at least playing a NCAA D3 schedule is becoming increasingly ridiculous.....
