Enoch won't play the rest of the July live period because of injury. It's not supposed to be serious, just precautionary.

Pretty much everyone has him penciled in to UCONN, but this is still nice. They left very impressed after their unofficial visit.

Yes, good point. Even if we don't land (and we will not) every top recruit we have for an official visit, making a great impression on him only helps raise Rhody's profile. Word gets around that Rhody is worth the visit and serious consideration.

He's also said he wants to wait until Spring to sign, he's not the only Top 50 big man on UConn's radar.

I think he's changed his position on that. If something feels right, he could commit soon.BFC wrote:He's also said he wants to wait until Spring to sign, he's not the only Top 50 big man on UConn's radar.

I guess he has. The Rhody visit is sort of mentioned in Zags' article.“I might be deciding really soon,” he said. “I don’t know when, it’s just a matter of really wanting to go somewhere.”

Re: '15 CT PF Steve Enoch
It's funny. He said he thinks the UCONN campus is really nice. I went with my daughter on a campus tour there in the spring and I didn't like the campus at all. I think URI has a much nicer campus than UCONN.

UConns campus leaves a lot to be desired; however, the kid grew up with posters on his wall. Only way he doesn't go there is if they don't want him. Hurley has made serious strides in the level of talent he is cultivating.

Re: '15 CT PF Steve Enoch
UConn is one of the favorites for Diamond Stone, who is rated as the #1 C in the class of 2015. Obviously, it's not out of the question for them to sign more than one big man but Enoch would not seem to be their #1 priority at this point.

Can't help but notice that the 247 page doesn't even have us listed as offering (but PC is) and we are the ones who have an official visit scheduled. Come on man, I hope we pull off the upset. Landing a great player over the defending national champs would be monumental for our program in so many ways.

THIS is the one who would have the biggest impact,

I'd love to get him, but it appears he wants UConn and UConn wants him.

That begs the question...Why not just commit? Even if there are other players on the trail he could still just commit and go where he 'wants to go'...

His coach certainly does, hard to tell how much of that is shared by the player. Getting him away from home will be a tough sell, but I like the calculated risk taking.Ram Stampede!!! wrote:YUP!twisted3829 wrote:anyone else get the feeling it's down to us and UConn?

Enoch's taken a lot of unofficials. Regardless of his decision, I definitely like URI getting the chance at an official. If the visit the following week sells him on UCONN, it sucks but at least Rhody was in it. If he ends up somewhere else like VCU, I'll probably feel differently.

Take your swings...never know with 17 yr old kids. Tough to beat the defending NCs in their backyard; but stranger things have happened.

I wonder if we're shying away because we're a long shot and we know UCONN is the huge favorite? Obviously what we need now are big guys and Enoch would be an unbelievable addition. I still think the UCONN campus is ugly, by the way.theblueram wrote:If we want this guy we should be giving this thread the Jared Terrel treatment.

I think it's because all this is not really a factor. But maybe that's just me. The saga of JT was something else all together. Re: '15 CT PF Steve Enoch
Must mean he's a lock for UCONN and Dan doesn't want to waste time - or Silva is a lock to come here?
Either way I'm not doubting how we do recruiting in any way, shape, or form. Dan can definitely get it done as we've seen.

Interesting that it's worded as URI cancelled his visit, rather than the other way around.

Well, according to Finkelstein, URI didn't want to waste one of their 12 visits
on a kid that seems a lock for UConn.
They must feel he's not going to change his mind, so, on to the next.
