Long and bouncy, obviously just one game of highlights here. One shot of him stepping outside and hitting a jumper, form looked decent.

I think Enoch ends up at UConn, which opens up Silva for URI and other mid-majors.

Read more at http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/spor ... BvI4ckI.99Silva eyeing Villanova and others
Roselle Catholic forward Chris Silva said that he’s eyeing Villanova as potential visit for August when he begins looking at schools.
The 6-foot-9, 210-pound senior power forward from Roselle Park, NJ, said he’s looking for a familial atmosphere for his landing spot for college.
“Right now, I’m keeping my head in school but I’m going to start going to some schools and planning visits around August,” Silva said. ““I’m looking to play right away and I need a school that feels like home and a family, distance isn’t a problem but it has to be affordable.”
Silva holds offers from SMU, Creighton, Villanova, Georgetown, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Syracuse, Rhode Island and more.
An athletic forward, Silva showed off his bounce during the Reebok Classic Wednesday night, getting to numerous blocks and attempting windmill jams at every chance he got.
Rated a three-star recruit by scouting services, Silva had seven points and six rebounds in limited time on the court.

Great game for Silva tonight at UAA- 20 points, on 5-6 shooting, 10-16 from the line.
His teammate Markis McDuffie added 10.

Re: '15 NJ PF Chris Silva
Feedback from his performance at AAU Finals
Pleasant surprise and on the rise: Chris Silva
Silva is a 6-8 long and bouncy power forward who is quick off his feet around the rim. He puts his stamp on the game by finishing drop-off passes created by dribble penetration, hitting the high-post or baseline 15-foot jumper with time and space, and hitting the glass on both ends of the floor. Silva is also an excellent lob catcher on the break.

If you had your choice between Silva and Reuter, which one would you rather have? Both are PFs, but are very different types of players.

Got plenty of guards, need big men. Plus, THE MANN.

Agree, Bressler.
Not getting the obsession with guards this cycle.
I think Silva may be the best player we're recruiting.

Re: '15 NJ PF Chris Silva
A wing type player and a power forward type would be strong additions. I don't see an especially strong focus on guards for the '15s. Some guys might be classified as SGs, but they're the 6'5"ish types not combo guards. I think they're mentioned in connection with a few guards (like Alston before he cut his list) because of earlier relationships, prior to the Terrell commit.
This is when it gets fun. Two spots open for sure- if a guy is ready to commit, are you ready to take him?
bressler, you have to kick someone off the team or have someone go pro if you want two PFs and Mann.

Re: '15 NJ PF Chris Silva
Butts is a great addition, but he's a SF.
Bress was talking big men.
I'm hearing we'll have three or even four more scholarships
for 2015.
No idea how this will happen, so we'll find out.

Yeah but right now they have three, which bressler wanted to fill with Butts, 2 big men, and Mann. I like his style but not his math.

Mann would not need a scholarship because of La-Force's status at the school.......

Re: '15 NJ PF Chris Silva
Well, two guys could leave.
I don't care how much people claim Butler has improved since March.
He's just not going to get a lot of floor time, with Minnis, Garrett, Buchanan, Matthews
and Terrell ahead of him.
Just fact, barring injuries or other problems.

Everyone's talking about Bressler's math. Well, if Mann does attend the UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND --- HE DOESN'T COUNT AS A SCHOLARSHIP PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: '15 NJ PF Chris Silva
None of those guys are prolific perimeter shooters....that is Butler's only window of opportunity, but also his biggest attribute. If he can hold his own defensively and improved his ball handling he could see time...zone defenses, foul trouble, injuries, lots of reasons he could get in a game. Too early to write anyone off.

From an article about Doug McDermott from last year, when he went from a scholarship player to a walk-on.bressler3south wrote:Everyone's talking about Bressler's math. "McDermott and his family will have to pay the full tuition at Creighton, which ranges between $30,000-40,000. Even though McDermott's father is an employee at the school, NCAA rules prohibit any financial aid unless that person has been employed for more than five years."
I'd link the article, but it turns into a giant picture of McDermott's head.

Good. Give Coach La-Force the raise it takes for an in-state student to attend….ace wrote:From an article about Doug McDermott from last year, when he went from a scholarship player to a walk-on.bressler3south wrote:Everyone's talking about Bressler's math. By-the-way: This NCAA ruling may not apply, as the benefit is state law rather than "a reciprocal gift" at a PRIVATE institution.

Butler doesn't have to leave. He just has to keep getting better until his senior year where he can play for sure.
Especially if a guy goes pro. Maybe some other guy has a problem.
It's nice to have a guy that just gets better and does what he is supposed to.

They'll play this out however they want, but if Mann, or any player in a similar situation, ends up playing without a scholarship, it will be his choice, not the staff's.

USC all my life meant, University of Southern California.
In any event, it's tough to recruit against BCS level schools,
especially during football season with all the hoopla and

In Southeast Conference Football Country USC is always South Carolina.
West Coast, Northeast and even in the Midwest USC would be Southern Cal.
