Hometown:Boston, Mass
School:Kimball Union Academy
Position:Power Forward
Offers:
Boston College

Connecticut
Florida
Iowa State
Maryland
Massachusetts
Miami (FL)
Michigan State
Providence
Rhode Island
Rutgers
Seton Hall
St. Bonaventure
St. John's

Just checking out ESPN.com and hadn't seen this kid up on the board. Don't know how accurate any of this is or how much consideration we have. All of these schools had checks next to offer. I'm sorry if this isn't the typical format, I tried my best.

Ed Cooley is all over this guy.
He's gone from mid major to high major this year.

Here is my prediction for next year with this year's record in ( ):Ramulous wrote:But pc has gone from mid-major in a blended BCS conference to a mid-major in a mid-major conference.
1. Marquette (20-6) with #26, #49 and #55 ESPN recruits coming in
2. Georgetown (25-7) with #63 ESPN recruit - then will lose to a 15th seed in the NCAA Tournament
3. Villanova (20-14) with #59 and # 91 ESPN recruits
4. St Johns (17-16) No ESPN recruits
5. Butler (27-9) No ESPN recruits
6. Xavier (17-14) with #89 ESPN recruit
7. Creighton (28-8) No ESPN recruits
8. PC (19-15) with #56 ESPN recruit
9. Depaul (11-21) with #90 ESPN recruit
10. Seton Hall (15-18) No ESPN recruits
Looks mid major to me

Re: '14 Adbul-Malik Abu
If Ledo and Batts are playing there is zero chance PC finishes 8th in that league. I would put them top 4 easy. Without both of them then yes they are back to the bottom. And oddly enough Batts might be more crucial to them having a succesful season next year than one and done Ricky.

Cooley is practically stalking this kid. He's put the work in on getting him, for sure.
He'd be a great piece for whoever gets him.
We're recruiting him, too, but I was told we have a better chance
for his teammate Terrell.

Terrell is a beast too. Both of them are. The old "men playing against boys" cliche. They both are already built like college football players.rodfromcranston wrote:Cooley is practically stalking this kid. He's put the work in on getting him, for sure.

If the staff all moves up maybe Dan should look at filling the last postion with a coach with New England AAU and/or Prep school ties. They are among the top recruiting areas in the US. It would be nice to have an in man with Adu and Terell.
Wonder if Ledo's choice would have an effect on these two recruits. Same AAU team.

BBAC has always been a top notch AAU program.
Doubt it we can get Abu, but maybe Terrell.

Re: '14 Adbul-Malik Abu
Keno Davis filled his 3rd assistants position with a BABC guy back in 2010 and it almost got PC hit with NCAA sanctions. Be careful what you wish for wth those guys, a lot of them are shady characters.

Re: '14 Adbul-Malik Abu
Having played and coached AAU, I don't love the idea of bringing an AAU guy into the program, although it depends on who the guy is. Chris Driscoll had a reputation as being shady even among other AAU types. There probably are some that could make the move.

Typo. Shoot me!
Is Gary Charles avaibable? LOL!
BABC with Papile even had an affiliation with the Celtics.

Re: '14 Adbul-Malik Abu
I hate the fact that all of AAU is seen as "bad". Did you know Mike Brown coached a high level AAU a few years back? Eddie Jordan coached one last year. There are many quality guys coaching AAU teams. You just have to do your homework and you make sure you hire the right one. For every Chris Driscoll and Doug Martin there are a ton of Dalonte Hill's, David Cox and Kenny Johnson's. Look at any major college coaching roster, and you will typically see at least one with AAU ties. For Xavier, Mike Pegues has connections to one of the top AAU teams in the country in DC Assault and Travis Steele coached with Indiana Elite. Umass has Marlon Williamson, who was with one of the top AAU teams in Michigan, The Family, before coming over. He replaced Antwon Jackson, who was with DC Assault, which is why there are so many DC and Maryland kids at Umass. And it goes beyond the conference too. Wyking Jones, an assistant at Louisville, worked for the EYBL and Nike.
I'm not saying that we should hire a guy with AAU connections, but you are on the road all summer watching these guys interacting with their kids and getting to know them by recruiting there guys. There are AAU teams that do things the right way, and their are AAU teams that exploit kids. You should be able to tell who can coach and who can't and you do your homework to make sure you are correct. If Hurley feels comfortable hiring an AAU guy, I'm fine with that. If he wants to hire an assistant high school coach, I'm fine with that. If he wants to hire as assistant from another team, I'm fine with that too. I trust Hurley's judgement, and if he feels comfortable with someone on his staff, I am comfortable with it!

Adu and Terrell plus many other 2014 recruits play for the Expressions not BABC. The expression team I believe is considered the top team in NE and one of the top in the country.
C Driscoll was considered a clown way before his PC days. He is not your typical AAU coach.

Stan Wright coached an AAU team for quite a while & we all know he's a class act. there are some shady ones out there so you just have to know who you are dealing with. None classier than Stanley.

I'd be shocked if anything came of this. That said, I'd be positively giddy if something were to happen. Agree that it takes a lot more than scrimmaging at a place to indicate that there are any new developments.

I would think if something were going to happen it would happen quickly. I believe Dan said our freshman would be starting second summer session on 6-19. If Abu were to come here he would most like have to not show up to NC ST and enroll here by the 19th.

Area guys usually get involved in pick up. For example Alex Murphy would stop by when he was home to play pick up. I think I remember hearing guys like Terrance Mack and Dawan would play pick up at Temple and St. Joe's during the off season.

exactly Bos8, Abu probably doesn't need to be at nc state for a few more weeks and he can go play pick with his friend and uri easily. Don't be surprised to see Mann playing pick up and maybe even Tomas Murphy
