With me personally it isn't mitigating the pain. I can't speak for others obviously, but I have been much higher on Hare than most here since we signed him. I think JT could be a terrific player for us, but I have and still feel that Hare could develop into a centerpiece.

Re: '14 MA SG Jared Terrell (Offer)
Just had a twitter notification hit my phone that had @JaredTerrell amongst others. I thought this was the big announcement... NOPE! Him and a bunch of college analysts just followed @NBADraft. And so the nervous excitement can escape from my body once more!

Byron Wesley, 6-5 G transferring from USC was supposed to visit Pitt this weekend but visit has been canceled. He might be headed to Gonzaga, which maybe is why Pitt offered JT.

Re: '14 MA SG Jared Terrell (Offer)
It's hard to believe that everything is so quiet about this recruitment, especially compared to the last one in September. not necessarily about what school he will choose, but will he visit anywhere else, is he leaning either way...not a peep, except that Pitt offered him.....nothing on whether or not there is mutual interest. Usually, somebody leaks something, a coach, a family member, a friend, the dog....somebody. But nothing. He has every right to his privacy. That's not what I mean. I'm just surprised there is basically no info or leaks.

Re: '14 MA SG Jared Terrell (Offer)
This is a couple of weeks old, but looks like Pitt is looking at a few options at guard, and they're already over on scholarships.
It appears Pitt really wants to add another player for next season. Byron Wesley certainly seems like plan A, but another option appears to have emerged. Matt Steinbrink of Pantherlair tweeted that Pitt has offered Dupree McBrayer. McBrayer is a 6"4 guard that could be heading to Prep school for next season, but Steinbrink obviously thinks Pitt would take him this season. McBrayer has been lightly recruited, but his recruitment has picked up with offers from Pitt and Seton Hall.
Recently, Pitt picked up a commitment from Cameron Johnson. Johnson takes Pitt over the scholarship limit, but nothing concrete has been mentioned about what current player is leaving the program. Pitt appears to be going after Wesley pretty hard, with a contingency plan in place with McBrayer. That suggests Pitt believes two scholarships will be open before next season, and it will be interesting to see how that unfolds over the next few weeks.

Gotta admit, this one has less leaks that Seal Team 6's
Bin Laden mission.
I'm astounded that so many people are involved and nobody is talking
at all. Never seen anything like this, especially in the Twitter age.

I expect the next thing we hear is the announcement.
I wonder if ST6 would be interested in getting to the bottom of this?

I think this is because he just hasn't made his decision yet. If he had and disclosed it to members of his camp, I would think something, however cryptic, would leak out. It always does in these type of situations. The absolute radio silence to me means he has not yet made a decision.Smokinjimit wrote:Rod this is astounding how quiet it is. Not a peep.

If it were a choice between two, he'd have made it by now.
I still think he's waiting for a big time school to offer, who actually can
give him playing time.
Kaza Keene redux.

I agree, Eagle78. There have been no reports because there's nothing to report. It's not what we want, but it happens sometimes.Eagle78 wrote:I think this is because he just hasn't made his decision yet. This is possible, I suppose. It would also mean that the importance to him of staying local has changed.rodfromcranston wrote:If it were a choice between two, he'd have made it by now.

Well, if he went to St. John's for instance, he could always
say it was closer than Stillwater, OK.

True...but that's not exactly "local" (which I would define as being an hour or so drive from home) which URI and BC are.rodfromcranston wrote:Well, if he went to St. John's for instance, he could always

Re: '14 MA SG Jared Terrell (Offer)
Coach's contracts are up June 1st.
I looked at Expression's roster, and they may have surpassed
BABC as the premier AAU program in NE.
So, if Boswell were to join on (all hypothetical, of course)it would be more
than Terrell, it would be about a future pipeline close to home.
Dan could really rev up recruiting with Cox and Boswell working different areas.
Interesting to think about.

Is there a limit on the number of assistant coaches a team can have? If not maybe an additional coach was put in the budget, that starts on June 1.

I think it's just some of us putting ideas together.
Could explain the delay, trying to shuffle things.
No clue if this has any legs. Honestly, nobody has mentioned it,
besides us.
The more I think of the idea, the more I like it, though.

I guess with every passing day it becomes more and more likely that the "deadline" will pass without any LOI.scine20 wrote:He has 5 days to make a choice. Something is bound to leak sooner or later.
I'm not sure what JT has to gain at this point by using next week's "signing" period as his deadline.
I think our second session of summer school starts on June 20

For comparison - UConn and Syracuse have three assistants. Maybe we go the route of three rather than pay Preston like two. Carr could do more admin than recruiting and you have NJ, MD, an NE pipelines = success
