RT @AdamFinkelstein: Rhode Island has offered 2015 Norwalk (CT) forward Steve Enoch, who is expected to visit unofficially this weekend.
Probably because he is a junior.....and he can drive there on his own for a quick look and meeting w the coaches without wasting one of his 5 officials
F*ck Alacki, DarthFriar, DirtyBeanFriar94, xCoachK, Boxworth, Friar Faithful, bicycleicycle, Matt_Keough, Patrick Norton, the Rosato brothers, and especially Benjamin Lord !
According to Adam Finkelstein, the kid is just getting good,
and we're in on him early.
Remember, McDermott, Cotton and Graham.
All under or unrecruited. There is unranked talent to be found.
"Every season, college basketball has one or two teams that rise from dormancy to relevancy, squads that make long-awaited charges at the NCAA Tournament and become really fun storylines along the way."
Love to get in on players who have yet to blossom. If he was a 2014 recruit with limited offers it might be a red flag. 2015, not so much. No harm in bringing him in for a closer look, hope he enjoys the visit and the staff like what they see!
I think they can now, starting halfway through their junior year.
Most of what I found has not been updated, I guess, since it says no official visits before first day of school senior year. But then I found this:
Basketball recruits cannot make any official visits until after January 1 of their junior year in high school, and are limited to one official visit per institution and five official visits in total.
"Every season, college basketball has one or two teams that rise from dormancy to relevancy, squads that make long-awaited charges at the NCAA Tournament and become really fun storylines along the way."
This is a great offer. I hope that he verbals with us after his visit.
He has strong upside potential.
He had a triple double this year as only a junior in points, rebounds and blocked shots.
Tough rebounder, good timing with shot blocking and again a lot of upside.
Just a matter of time before higher level schools are offering, especially after this summer of AAU ball. Exactly what Hurley needs to be doing - grabbing a close by New England kid before he really blows up - because trust me, he will.

I saw alot of intriguing candidates this past weekend, but none more than Steven Enoch. http://wp.me/p4flsM-24 #Providence #URI #Creighton
Did somebody forget to tell this kid that the Big East broke up and died?? I love how these Big East still write and try to pump up the conf as if it isn't a mid-major now.
Look, the kid's not an idiot. Watch what happens to his prospective list. Before you know it, Syracuse, Pitt, Louisville, VCU, UCLA, Michigan, and Duke are going to be involved.
Oh, yeah…I forgot……BC, too.

After hosting 2015 G Terance Mann yesterday for an unofficial visit, Boston College plans to host 2015 rising big man Steve Enoch today

Great news. shows he has an interesst in New England.
We have as good or better story to tell than those other 3 New England schools.
This kid is really getting some National attention and for good reason.
Good to see Dan early on so many 2015 and 2016 players.
Enoch's options are almost limitless, but there's some good stuff on Hurley in this article-
“I was really impressed with Hurley,” Mathews said. “He’s really sharp. Liked him a lot. He broke down some film, just everything, from the way he talks to his players and just what he picks up in workouts. And when we broke down film, just everything he picked up on and broke down for Steve and myself. You can tell his bloodline is top-notch basketball coaching. He really knows what the heck he’s doing, he’s a great personality.”
Great read Ace. I stopped following zags since he clogs up the inbox a lot of the time but that was the best informational article he has written. Great piece and maybe URI can be a player in his recruitment.
"Every season, college basketball has one or two teams that rise from dormancy to relevancy, squads that make long-awaited charges at the NCAA Tournament and become really fun storylines along the way."
Another reason why I find it humerous when fans worry about Hurley's hoop knowledge. Just can't wait to see what he does with a real dangerous A10 roster. No more training wheels.
Who has and who hasn't isn't the point, one mans opinion doesn't amount to much anyway but it's great to read and hopefully other players read the comments and we can continue to reel in some of these top 100 players!
I bet most players the Hurley staff is targeting are the type that WOULD appreciate what Hurley can bring to breaking down film and developing the talent that will allow elite players a chance at the NBA or high level European ball.
Good to see URI being mentioned in the same breath as UConn. That'll be a tough one to overcome for Enoch, obviously fantastic program and Ollie does a great job. If Hurley can beat them out, that would be incredible. I really like the sound of Enoch, I hope he can make it happen.
It would be a shocker if this doesn't go UConn's way.
"Every season, college basketball has one or two teams that rise from dormancy to relevancy, squads that make long-awaited charges at the NCAA Tournament and become really fun storylines along the way."
“I visited UConn two weeks ago,” Enoch said. “It was good because a whole bunch of other players came to visit, too, Tyus Battle, Ray Smith, Tremont Waters were there. And my teammate Ian Gardner was there so we had a good time.”
Enoch says he and Ollie are developing a strong relationship.
“We’ve built a really good relationship with each other and all the coaching staff,” he said.
It doesn’t hurt that the Huskies just won the NCAA title, either.
“I watched them win but I was just rooting for them,” he said. “I didn’t have anybody special that I was really rooting for. It was really good that they won and I’m happy for them.”
“With Connecticut, it’s obvious,” George Mathews, Enoch’s coach with High Rise Team Up, told SNY.tv. “Great facilities, really good coaching staff. They’re saying they want him. They’re saying they really want him a lot. He’s a Connecticut kid, they love his versatility, they want us to commit.”
