Rhode Island Licensed Apparel

Unread post by CamsRams »

I've been waiting for URI to license their brand to more of these new lifestyle product companies (Yeti, Smith and Branson, Vineyard Vines...). Many of them have rolled out collegiate lines and we're typically never an option. Most of these products are nice and would help build our brand.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Peter Miller offer a Rhode Island line: https://www.petermillar.com/c/c/atlanti ... parel.html

Very nice pullovers, shirts and jackets. Not cheap but it's another option to what the online bookstore offers for Adidas, etc.

I love the Peter Millar stuff. I’ve been bugging the athletic department to get the licensing stuff figured out for a few years and emailed them specifically about Peter Millar two summers ago when I could find freaking UMass and Providence stuff on their site but no Rhody stuff. Mortifying and frustrating, but glad we’re making progress.

That’s OK. If you’re building a brand out, you should have stuff your supporters can buy at all different price points. Not every fan needs to be able to afford every single piece of merch, just like not all merch will appeal to every fan from an aesthetic perspective. People dress differently and spend different amounts on clothes and have different style preferences; since fans are people, gear should account for these different tastes.

I'd love to see Rhody on Homefield Apparel. Their stuff is super creative and mostly reasonably priced. A lot of throwback logos and stuff, too. They have a lot of schools on there already (Davidson, Dayton, and UMass are all there) but no URI. They are teasing that they're adding a new school every week this fall so fingers crossed.

Hillflint is another one. They have high quality throwback-style stuff for a ton of schools, but not URI. We’ve just never been good with this branding stuff.

This is another strange issue,-go to the bookstore and RC shop and there is some good stuff. Yet,the web site offering is terrible.
Ask the question and you get an answer similar to as to why homecoming and family day are held during same game.
This is a school with no $$ ??

Nooo...our world is not only 138 (from the tower to Richmond Stop n Shop), but also branches off to Wakefield (CVS and Job Lot) and Exeter (Effie's) ;)

I posted about the big URI Bookstore xmas sale here in December

The quality and variety of swag was fantastic - I was frankly shocked. Parking was gated and convenient.
