  • Dayton (3-0) vs P5 Georgia (4-0) is one I’ll watch at 2:30pm today on ESPN2. Playing in Lahaina Maui. A very small Civic Center but a beautiful place
Both teams undefeated. Dayton -3 points
  • Fordham vs Western Kentucky at 3:15pm from the Virgin Islands is an interesting matchup since we play them both. WKU -11 points
  • P5 Wisconsin (4-1) vs Richmond (4-0) from the Barclays Center at 7pm on ESPN2 Wisconsin -6 points. Undefeated Richmond is ranked 2nd in the Nation in 3P Shooting at 46.1% out of 350 teams. Richmond is ranked 2nd in per game scoring at 92.5 ppg.

Large Dayton contingent at this game. One of the features of a strong program is a large traveling fan base and that combined with a good teams what gets you invitations to the best early season tournaments like Maui.

Chance? 100% he is going. Remember he’s like 21 or 22 years old already I believe. He’s gonzo and could be a Top 15-20 pick when all said and done.

Richmond looked very good. Adding Blake Francis to Gilyard makes them very formidable. Top 5 team for sure. Wisconsin was also a good match up for them. Not overly athletic nor very big up front beyond their C.

Good night for the A-10 as the teams go 5-1 on the night.

VCU did what good teams do to lesser teams like winless Alabama State, they put their feet to the metal and never let up its they won 78-62.

Also, La Salle defeated a decent Murray State team convincingly, 75-64. Murray State was the favorite for second place in the Ohio Valley.

Also, the Lady Rams put in a three pointer with 2 seconds left in OT to beat Vermont, 77-74.

208, we want Jacob to be here for 4 years.

Of course, if he turns out to be as good as his brother, then he's probably not going to do that, but he'll be here 3 years at least.

Having that year off to develop really helped Obi be very good right off the bat.

Jacob is a true freshmen so he doesn't have that.

Michigan State I'm sure will be a factor in the NCAA tournament, but they look a tad overrated right now.

Dayton imo has a shot against VaTech and then they would likely play Kansas.

Their OOC strength of schedule will end up being pretty good however it shakes out.

Add Richmond to the list of Top 100 teams visiting the Ryan Center this year. Barring a major collapse from them in rest of OOC (which i don’t see happening) our home opener just became a chance for another quality W.

Yep, eight of URI's 18 A-10 games will be against the KenPom Top 100 right now (VCU x2, Davidson x2, Dayton x2, Duquesne, Richmond). Add in SLU and Mason and 10/18 against the Top 150.

With just about half the OOC schedule now completed, the A-10 record is 55-26 with a winning percentage of .679. This is the best it has been at this date for many years. This record portends well for the conference when it comes to postseason participation.

The A-10 OOC record and winning percentage have had a direct correlation to the number of bids for each season. Per my calculation (had to piece together the last five years), this is the OOC history and number of NCAA bids for the last 20 seasons:

A-10 OOC Win % and NCAA Bids by Season
.528 - 2019 Atlantic 10 - 2 bids
.523 - 2018 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.612 - 2017 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.659 - 2016 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.607 - 2015 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.708 - 2014 Atlantic 10 - 6 bids
.654 - 2013 Atlantic 10 - 5 bids
.624 - 2012 Atlantic 10 - 4 bids
.587 - 2011 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.624 - 2010 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.593 - 2009 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.643 - 2008 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.541 - 2007 Atlantic 10 - 2 bids
.555 - 2006 Atlantic 10 - 2 bids
.406 - 2005 Atlantic 10 - 1 bid
.587 - 2004 Atlantic 10 - 4 bids
.536 - 2003 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.522 - 2002 Atlantic 10 - 1 bid
.556 - 2001 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids
.559 - 2000 Atlantic 10 - 3 bids

While the A-10 earned just two NCAA bids last year (when it had an OOC win% of just .528), it has averaged three bids each season for the last 20 years. The league received more than three bids on four separate occasions in this period. All but one of these years had an OOC winning percentage of over .600.

Still early of course, but 3 bids this season is likely, with a shot at 4.

The days of 5 or more are over...the deck is getting stacked too heavily against mid major conferences.

LaSalle is a 7.5 point underdog against a Wright State team who has no quality wins. I wouldn’t be surprised to see LaSalle win the game outright
