In mid November Holy Cross easily defeated Stony Brook, 84-70, at Mohegan Sun. The Crusaders held the lead thru most of the game and by mid point of the second half had built its margin to twenty points. HoLy Cross is a good three point shooting team putting up, on average about 20 shots and hitting on 35%. Saturday's road game will be a stiff challenge for URI, a team that has not seen much OOC road success.

Okay I was trying to think of the last time in my life I went to Worcester, and I realized it was back in 7th grade for a field trip to the Medieval Museum there, not even sure if that's what they call it but it had knight's armor, etc. For some reason, our teacher thought that would be a useful field trip, and I have no idea how/why I remember going there.

Googlemaps shows me about 1.5 hours to get there without traffic door to door. I'm still wanting to make my way up there, thanks for posting the food & drink options, RF!

The Higgins Armory once housed one of the world's largest medieval armor collections. It sadly closed after decades of operation due to an ever increasing drop in visitors. The collection was taken over by the Worcester Art Museum. Sadly there are just a few pieces presently being exhibited until they can raise the necessary funds to build a new wing for it. Probably many years away from being fully displayed again.

We used to go to Worcester a couple times a year when we lived in CT. To get to Maine. Have lived in New England all of my life ('cept for 6 years in FL) and can't remember EVER going to Worcester on purpose. Being day to day, physically, made it tough to consider PC, but...it looks like there are, and will be, plenty of blue dots available for this one at DCU. End line court-side for $37?

I spent four years in Worcester at WPI as an undergrad not far from downtown. Later worked in Worcester County (on its fringe) for six years. Am very familiar with the city.

I saw Robert Plant and Jimmy Page at the Worcester Centrum after Led Zep broke up. I may take the ride up if things work out.

I Ski 2/3 days a week at Wachusett....I heard a Holy Cross ticket sale push commercial multiple times on 1440 AM this morning on my ride up.

This is a big game for Holy Cross and like I said above a trap game for us. They might have a nice crowd, the weather looks good might get a decent walkup crowd. For those who don't know Worcester the Centrum is 5 minute from HC campus which is on your left heading south on 290 just past the 146 split.

The commercial said lowest tix price is $22 btw

Watching the Holy Cross/UMass game and this is going to be a very difficult game for us to win, especially with how poorly we've been shooting. HC is well disciplined and does not make many mistakes, they run a nice half court offense with a lot of motion and back door cuts to the basket, they also have very solid guard play. They play a match up zone on defense, not a very athletic team but they are very sound fundamentally.

Oh, and UMass is awful.

Holy Cross is realy solid this year, but still, losing would be very bad optics for Cox. To miss on all of your top recruiting targets and then open the year by being one of the worst offensive teams in the country... not sure you could ask for a worse start. He needs to turn it around ASAP. It would be nice to beat a solid team before facing WVU who has their own issues this year.

That seems like soooo long ago, like in a different lifetime....like, back before the Red Sox used to rack up rings.

Speaking of rings...I have to give a thumbs up to the crew that came up with the ring replica for season ticket holders.
I have no idea what it's made of, but that thing has some heft to it, and aside from the (probably) unavoidable ad on the side, looks great.
Yes, it's a knock off, but it's a hefty knock off. Put that thing in a sock, swing it around and no one is messing with you.

I believe it’s on that Stadium streaming service. Not sure I want to drive up there tomorrow morning, saving my weekend windshield time for next Sunday driving to Mohegan.
