Just shows College recruiting is a tough business...but gotta feel for the kid - sounded real excited to play there.
Happy Fleming and Staff took the initiative and offered him a Scholie, could be a great player for us.

Even if this kid doesn't come to Rhody this is great PR for a program desperately in need of some.
Deadspin and others have picked up on the story now too.

"The silver lining here is that Dickens told NJ.com Rhode Island, an FCS school, reached out Tuesday morning to offer him a scholarship. Meanwhile, powerhouse UConn pushes forward for what analysts are saying looks like a promising three-win 2017 season."

Re: UConn reneges on scholarship offer
They were talking about it on the radio this morning. No mention of the JMU game when they brought up URI football, but they did mention how good football in the CAA is. Good to see Fleming and staff right on top of this.

What radio station was talking about it?
Take down the Robert Carothers banner and fix the concession stand lines

He's visited URI and Lafayette and expected to go to Monmouth.
