You can say that again. He was shot in the leg so, hopefully, he'll recover. But cops put their lives on the line every time they go on the street.

Also makes me pissed at the URI Students who threw Full Cans and Bottles of Beer, Chunks of Ice, Snowballs and other debris at South Kingston, Campus and State Police plus EMS Personnel after the Superbowl. Some police were hit in the head and leg with Beer Bottles or Cans.
Anyone caught doing this should be expelled from URI

it sounds like most here respect and appreciate the tough lives policemen live. Unfortunately, the state and many Rhode Islanders only give lip service to these public servants while supporting cutting the pensions and benefits of the policemen. I find that appalling. I apologize for getting political, but it is a bitter irony that policemen and their families have to endure such indignities.

Just an update on Brandon Murphy.
He told me, that he is recovering from his
wound and has returned to work with
light duty.
Good news. Hope he gets a medal for his actions,
in confronting a home invasion.
