Awesome. Hope they make it to the WS this year. I feel like it's bound to happen.

I would say Rowing is our most competitive program, followed by baseball and track.

The rest is...rebuilding.

Men's Track has to be the top team at URI. Check how they have done recently in the A 10s and New England championships. Coach Copeland has built an A 10 powerhouse where second place is a disappointing season.

Men"s Hockey maybe?

Rhode Island has enjoyed a 505-227-46 record in the last 25 years, two ESCHL regular season, two ESCHL Playoff championship and one ACHA National Championship in 2006.

Obviously I'm a huge proponent of URI Hockey, want D1 more than anything, but at least we have the Boss to watch games in. Baseball's shoddy treatment is almost more of a bummer since they've been the most competitive varsity team sport of late and yet have zero seating at Beck Field. Don't get me wrong, the facility is great and I know the new surface is supposed to be awesome, but there's no stands. None. Officially capacity is listed at 1,000, but 950 of those people would have to be standing around the fences since the only actual bleachers are directly in front of the press box.

We went to a Friday afternoon game last year where the Rams absolutely ruined umASS 9-2, and I listened to a bunch of their radio games after that - Rhody Baseball will be beasts this year and I'm looking forward to it. Bravo on the votes well deserved.

18 days until baseball opens up their season. They start with 4 games at Florida Gulf Coast beginning Valentine's Day.

I wish I were a billionaire.
Endow the baseball team with 25 full-scholarships.
Build the already-planned New Meade Stadium.
Ask Dr. Dooley and Thorr whatever anyone else needed for athletics.
Then Dr. Dooley again what's needed just for the school.
Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From your lips to God's ears. Amen!

I try to get into the baseball team, just because I love the sport and you can make the case that they're our best program, but the aluminum bats just kill me. It's not real baseball. Add in that you go to Bill Beck Field and there's no place to sit to watch the games and the team gets far less support than they should.

The seating bothers me a lot. People bring chairs as if its a little league game. It needs to be more pronounced. The field is nice but no seating and its tucked away from peoples sight.
