Here is the write-up on Rokas from last season's Oak Hill midyear review:
6’8 2014 Rokas Gustys: Gustys is a tough and physical player from Lithuania. He is a physically strong PF and is a two handed rebounder. While Gustys is not the most athletic player, he is fundamentally sound and possesses a high basketball IQ. He has nifty feet in the low post area and has extremely soft hands. While Gustys scored the majority of his points on the interior, he has the ability to step out and consistently knock down the perimeter jumper. Gustys is averaging 7.0 PPG going 57-108 from the floor for 53%. Although he has a nice touch, he has struggled at the FT line going 19-39 for only 45%. He averaged 5.7 RPG and look for Gustys to be a major target for his position in the 2014 class.

Having set up the profile for Rokas, I have to admit I'm a little stumped about why ramster started this thread. Any connection to Rhody, or is this just a random human interest piece? If it is the latter, in the future that shouldn't go in the recruiting section.

Is he speculating that because the guy is Lituanian,
we must be in on him?
Does this mean Hurley will offer ATP a scholarship?

No, not speculating because he is Lithuanian. I never even made the connection myself with Biruta until someone here mentioned it.

Ramster says there is a "connection" to Rhody, so no harm having a thread. Haven't seem anything linking us with him, so not listing us with interest until there is something to go on.

Yes there is a connection. No, it is not a random human interest piece.
University of Rhode Island has now offered Rokas Gustys.

This kid's stock is going to continue to rise this year.
Oak Hill Academy (8th ranked USA Today) defeated Archbishop Carroll from Pennsylvania in Overtime 70-61 to win the Chick-fil-A Chamipionship.
Gustys had 15 points and 16 rebounds to lead Oak Hill and he made the All Tournament Team (Consider that Caleb Martin is ranked #59 ESPN, #46 Scout and is from Oak Hill - going to NC State)

Chick Fil A Classic - All Tournament - 2013
So Thon Maker #1 Ranked Player in ESPN Class of 2016
Sr Theo Pinson (UNC) # 13 Ranked Player ESPN Class of 2014
Sr Rokas Gustys
Sr Austin Tilghman
Jr Derrick Jones # 18 Ranked Player in ESPN Class of 2015

Iffy, our current center is 13-29 for 44.8%.
Jorday Hare, our center last year was 18-37 for 44.7%.
Gustys last year shot 45% but he was only a Junior and comingoff the bench. He has a nice release so FT Shooting should improve
Gustys Stats from the Chick-Fil-A Tournament this past week:
Game 1 Oak Hill vs Keenan Won 91-40 23min 5-5fg 0-0ft 5 rebounds 10 points 1 block 3 assists
Game 2 Oak Hill vs Weslayan Christian (led by #13 ranked Theo Pinson-UNC)Won 70-46 19min 6-8fg 0-1ft 9 rebs 12 points 2 blocks
Game 3 Oak Hill vs Archbishop Carroll Won 70-61 (OT) 35min 7-12fg 1-4ft 16 rebounds 15 points 1 block
Gustys was Selected to the All Tournament Team He shot 18-25 from the field for 72%.

Oak Hill now 19-1 ranked #8 in USA Today which was last updated on December 10th so Oak Hill will likely move up in the rankings. They have 24 regular season game to go then the playoffs. So their regular season schedule is 44 games - 13 games more than URI plays.

Dan recently took the blame for not having enough good players on the bus. He now needs to go aggressively after the top 3 or 4 players on his board and get them!

Does Dan really mean "number" or "quality"? I think it's both, actually.

Just hope they get Hare's and Aaman's situations resolved before the end of this season.

Need the open scholarships. If they are gone, would we now have 4 available, adding Powell's and the one left open?

I don't think mike is gone for good - sounds like they are taking extra precaution to make sure he is healthy before getting back on the court. I would love hare to be back next year. If we make it to the 2nd semester and he has not transferred we have a shot at that.

Hurley went on to say that in year 2 he should have the roster in better shape. He's taking responsibility and u have to like that. He's not as far along as he thought he was and knows he needs more pieces. The staff is working like crazy to find some diamonds in the rough.
