I think they're getting that sheen of being a decent team because of Pitino's presence, but it would still be unusual for a team to have success with so many transfers immediately. (Yes, some teams do have success with a ton of transfers right away, but not all of them.) I think its more likely that St. John's is average or meh this year, and get better next year with transfers and holdovers.
