The possibility of the five power conferences —SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac-12 — forming a separate subdivision has moved from backroom conversations to public comments. In May, Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said it was a topic of conversation during a session with NCAA president Mark Emmert at the league's annual spring meetings. And Emmert told the San Antonio Express-News that consideration of another subdivision "would be healthy and the right thing to do."

The SEC is the NFL development league, why don't they just get out of any attempt to call if differently. Could be the beginning of the end of Div-I as we know it.
