Re: Rhode Island Transfer Interest Spreadsheet for 2022-23
Dayton has been very successful over the years with freshman starting point guards such as Scoochie Smith , Jalen Crutcher and now with Malachi Smith .
Having a starting role for a freshman PG for them sped up the learning curve for those players and led to exceptional careers . I don't see a problem with it when quality players are involved . Hope Cam is that kind of player .

Yeah idk that doesn’t seem right for his role this year, he was the teams second primary ball HandlerBillyboy78 wrote: ↑1 year agoBackup shooting guard?CamsRams wrote: ↑1 year ago A Manhattan, New York, native, Kortright had his best season in Hamden this past year, averaging 10.3 points per game in 31 total games. Re: Rhode Island Transfer Interest Spreadsheet for 2022-23
I don't know how serious the mutual interest is.
But I feel the staff is set with Brown, Foumena, and Bilau(when he returns) at the 5.
Hudson has a stronger mid-range game than Brown and think they would put him at the 4 at 6'7"/230.

I just want legit competent P6 size. We have that with Fou, Bilau and Brown so I'm happy with that.
Just hope we get Buru because he's 6'8 and way more skilled. Super athletic.
This guy must be just a back up plan.

Re: Rhode Island Transfer Interest Spreadsheet for 2022-23
I'd take him right now. Was glad to see Miller/URI on the Interest list
2022-23
Led the team with 6.9 rpg and while scoring 10.1 ppg. Also led the team with 22 blocked shots and was third with 27 steals ... Ranked 12th in Sun Belt in rebounding ... Had three double-doubles ... Scored in double figures 13 times and grabbed double-figure rebounds in five games.
Career-high 26 points in win over Coastal Carolina, going 9-for-13 from the field, including 4-of-7 3-pointesr. Also had five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks ... Recorded then career-high 23 points and 11 rebounds in 59-57 loss to Georgia Tech. Scored 10 of GSU’s 12 points in a five-minute stretch to give the Panthers a 42-35 lead in the second half ... Pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds vs. Middle Georgia ... Grabbed 11 rebounds, along with eight points, at Auburn ... Had a double-double in win over South Alabama with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Now with Wright the staff may be done with the backcourt.
Unless of course some stud guard or wing falls in our lap.
I would take Hudson plus Buru, competition is always good.
We lost Hutch, Samb, and Alex so why not and Bilau is temporarily out.

Re: Rhode Island Transfer Interest Spreadsheet for 2022-23
Since Wright is a PG I don't see why we wouldn't go after Pride or another SG
I mean we don't have to play Dubsky and Cam right away. They're true freshman.
You got Always and Kortright running the point
House is really your only true SG. Weston and Zek are wing players that are capable of playing the 2.
Last year the staff had several guards including Ant who never made it.
Bray/Thomas PG
Ish/Carey/Weston/Ant at the two or three.
We have
Always/Kortright PG
House SG
Weston/Zek Wing/SG
We could add another SG for sure.

Maybe it's just me, but outside of Ish I see much improved all around guard play with Kortright, Wright, Zek and House. The naked eye doesn't lie. Sign me up for being optimistic so far.

If Miller thinks adding Pride makes sense, which you are saying he wants Pride, then that's that. He's the HC. Less than a year ago he was against adding 1 year guys. URI will have at least seven new players for next season as of now. Just two are true freshmen. With the current climate, it would seem likely the majority of these players will be elsewhere in two seasons.

He will answer the door if we dress up like recruits. Although, I’m balding…anyone have a hair piece I can borrow?
