I just told you, 1. it wasn't people (pleural) and 2. it was ME, and I wasn't acting like that at all

You guys can't read. It's fine, it's not the first time it's happen on this site or the previous message boards.

No one thought Rivera was going to be Obi Toppin. Just slightly impressed with his athleticism was all.
I just threw the name Obi Toppin out there because he's the best recruit the A10 has seen in a while.I honestly don't even remember reading your post about Jacob Toppin.. My point was I thought it was odd how upset people were that we didn't land Rivera. That's all.

I have no real problem with the comments of Rhody72 who is entitled to his opinion. All of us have a critical side, myself included, but what makes Rhody72 get under the skin of many here is his basic fatalistic view which runs through much of what he offers up. I'm not a big admirer of fatalism as a value, and if you want to reach for an approach that has more dignity associated with it, look no further than the URI seal.... and find hope.
Fatalistic? I'm still optimistically predicting that URI makes the NCAAT in year 4 (2025-26). I'll root for URI to win every game until then and beyond. I'd like to hear your case for dancing any sooner. I'm trying to be realistic.
Look I made a generalization on fatalism and like all accurate generalizations, they do not apply to everything you say nor does it question your support for the Rams. But most of what you say is tinged with fatalism including your "trying to be realistic" retort. I have nothing to do with changing that, only you can do that, if you wish.

Listen, I'm surprised at how bad we were last year, but it seemed like one of those seasons where everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. Plus, he was already at a disadvantage by being out of the game for a year. So I'm giving him a pass... I agree that this is a massive off-season for Archie. If he has a bunch of misses again, and we have one of the worst rosters in the conference, that's unacceptable.

You say some dumb stuff but then you double down on it which is noble.
You are naive.
Yes recruits are talked to during the season...but literally no one can switch schools until now. Literally this is "the time of year" they transfer.
So you saying no good talent comes this time of year is dumb. You're the stunad of KB and you wear it proudly.

Abou committed once. And then the Twins committed less than a week later, and Abou decommitted.

That was an epic failure. Abou turned out to be way better than them. Shades of Antonio Reynolds-Dean. Huge motor and knack for great positioning grabbing boards, good hands, good foot work. This would be an absolutely huge pickup if possible.

Go forth Jalen, make some coin, take those physical skills to a higher level. Get a pro-type personal coach to work on some of the weakest part(s) of your game.

Sure, but it's still a weird look for someone so connected to the university to basically crap on the kid, on his way out. Carey was a very frustrating player to watch at times, but I never got the feeling he was half-assing it out there, and given his injury history, he probably sucked it up and played hurt for us at several points, in mostly losing seasons. There's not really a reason to take a swipe at him on the way out.

I think "epic failure" is overselling it, since the twins were fine for us. They were pretty productive at Arkansas as well, so I put it more on tactics / coaching that they played more out of control at URI. You think Abou would have turned out to be the exact same player with Cox as his head coach? Or stayed through his firing? Cox's teams sucked at the guard position once he lost holdover players like Russell and Dowtin, but he could oddly scout and recruit productive big men.

ok, I admit, I exaggerated a little bit. I like the way he plays and I was never all that impressed with the way the twins play. But, yeah, he might not have thrived if he played under Cox.

Who is fatalistic? I decided to look up the difference between fatalism and realism and found the following verbatim.

"What is fatalist vs realist?
Fatalists are those who believe that all events are predetermined or inevitable. Fatalists believe that hope or inspiration take us to a better reality. Realists use facts and logic, rather than hopeful feelings and wishes, in regards to their future."

Yeah, NBA teams will be fighting to land a guard pushing 24 who boasts a 1.7 to 2.6 Assists to Turnover ratio and a 3 point shooting percentage of .197. 😐

He was not able to take advantage of any mismatches on the offensive end if that is the case. If he can't drive past a forward can he drive past a guard? He needs some deception in his game. I wish him success but he needs to put the work in to improve and the coaching staff better recruit enough quality starters for next season that he is coming off the bench and earning his playing time.

Completely pointless. Why come here and not read everything?

For instance, you could have someone, weeks after the conversation, still harping on about how P5 schools lose players too, every single time one of their players enters the portal. And you would never even know it

I don’t necessarily disagree with the ‘out of position’ comment. He played the 4 in a lot of games. I think if he’s matched up against 2s/3s, he can use his strength to make a difference. His role at times reminded me of Stan a few years back when we had a 6’4 guard defending against the other teams PF. With some nice additions to the front court, I could see him doing well this year. Hope he stays.
