Here you go Duane Woodward, do your thing.
Just kidding, probably no chance in hell.

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
As the tweet states, he is a Montreal native. He only spent 1 season at Riverdale Baptist in Maryland before leaving. I don't believe he played AAU for a DC based team. (Fun fact- Josaphat Bilau also spent 1 year at Riverdale).Billyboy78 wrote: ↑1 year agoI don't know. Besides the Duane connection, he's from Upper Marlboro, MD.,so Kenny's area. And....he played at Orangeville Prep who we seem to have good connection with right now.

Why do you get so excited for our best teams losing their best players?
Only going to make the league worse.
You wanting Holmes and Camara to leave Dayton makes less than zero sense.
Go Rhody

Why would Baldwin ever come to URI? Lol. Leave the top of the A-10 for a program that is on a downward spiral

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
I’m not sure it has anything to do with a bandwagon other than the truth. Every time someone enters the portal we start talking about adding them to our roster. What would make Baldwin come to URI? Obviously we aren’t going to bad forever, but the margin to succeed with the conference being down is very smallbigappleram wrote: ↑1 year agoThe spiral will reverse itself soon. And I imagine you will jump back on the wagon then?

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
I never try to predict what the NCAA will do, but they are claiming that the waivers for a second transfer are not going to be easy to get. I get that their intention is to have players carefully consider their situations and use the one freebie wisely, but I’m not sure that leaves the players who have already transferred and who then have had their coaches leave in a fair position. Guys like Hopkins and Floyd and Carter- are they really going to be all in or are they picking the best of two not great choices if they stay? They didn’t ask for this. Some guys, like Curbelo at St. John’s, have jumped in and are taking their chances, although I am not sure he had much choice. I’m not sure Pitino has ever considered anyone but himself in any decision he’s made.

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
A good issue to raise, Ace. Also, a good discussion point.
I am not sure how to address it, having not given it any thought yet.
Since coaches are jumping around so much - voluntarily or involuntarily - can it be addressed from the coaches angle contractually some how or by regulating movement (not sure if that can be done without a court challenge) ?
Or, if you go the players angle root, do you amend the recent transfer rules change regarding coaches leaving to say that, for example: due to a coach leaving, players with more than 1yr of eligibility remaining can transfer a second time w/o requesting a waiver ? This example, a Junior, who already transferred once, wouldn’t be able to transfer the 2nd time, even if their coach leaves, and play immediately.
Just thinking off the top of my head to juice up the discussion.

Pitino talked to Soriano and recruited him to stay his 1st day on the job. Pitino will turn St Johns around very fast. He hit the ground running on Day 1.

I agree with all of this, I think players should get a free transfer if their head coach leavesace wrote: ↑1 year ago I never try to predict what the NCAA will do, but they are claiming that the waivers for a second transfer are not going to be easy to get. 1000% for example look what’s happening at St. John’s, for all the kids who’ve transferred in there before what will they do now? Sit because their coach didn’t want themRhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑1 year agoI agree with all of this, I think players should get a free transfer if their head coach leavesace wrote: ↑1 year ago I never try to predict what the NCAA will do, but they are claiming that the waivers for a second transfer are not going to be easy to get. Latest rumors are that he’s staying put, along with the rest of the holdovers (except Bynum)reef wrote: ↑1 year agoOh my bad !! Word on Bynum is he burned a lot of bridges, not just with Cooley but with teammates and school.
"Every season, college basketball has one or two teams that rise from dormancy to relevancy, squads that make long-awaited charges at the NCAA Tournament and become really fun storylines along the way."

I'm not sure what I was thinking. Brain fart. I know Dickinson is from the DC area. For some reason, I was thinking of the 7 foot Dickinson kid from RI. Duh.KingstonLane wrote: ↑1 year agoDoubt it, they already have their starting 4 and 5 with Hopkins and Oduro

Re: The Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel 2023-24
Dickinson narrowed to 4 schools before picking Michigan
He played at DeMatha and for Team Takeover with Terrance Williams who originally committed then decommitted from Georgetown to also go to Michigan.
Cooley could be an instant hero at Georgetown.
Hunter Dickinson, a four-star center from DeMatha Catholic in Maryland, announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Friday. He picked Michigan over Duke, Florida State and Notre Dame.
