29-2 lead for UConn at the moment. That's not a bad start!

WVU is an interesting P5 Net/NCAAT test case. They have a Net of 23 despite a 6-11 conf record ( the Big12 is rated 1st in Net overall ) but a very good early season out of conf record. They are 5-12 in Q1 games and 5-5 overall in their last 10 games.

I saw last night that Lunardi of ESPN has them currently in the tourney.

If they do get in because the Net carries that much influence in determining bids, to me, that sets a bad precedent for non-P5 teams.
Lunardi has West Virginia in as a 10th seed
VCU is in as a 12th seed
VCU = placeholder?

Antoine Davis of Detroit Mercy is now just 26 points away from breaking Pistol Pete's scoring record!

Watched him pour in 38 points tonight. Don't know why I haven't heard of him until like a week or so ago. Dude is a fun player to watch.

Plays at Youngstown state in the quarterfinals of the horizon league tournament on Thursday night.

He has played 5 years at Detroit picking up the free bonus Covid year.
No interest in seeing Maravich's record broken with that Covid year added on.

Maravich set the record in 3 years because they had Freshmen Teams then. Freshmen could not play varsity in Year 1.

Maravich averaged 44 ppg for his career
Yeah im well aware

It's still cool! Even with the asterisk
Haven't heard of him = definition of a NOHEHOH.
Add the fact that, after this year, no one will ever hear of him again...create a separate 5 year record...this one will be just silly.

To Xavier. Lost both games to Xavier and Sean Miller this season - so far. Maybe get beat a 3rd time in MSG

And Xavier was without Zach Fremantle who has now missed 8 straight games

Now we need another Miller win at 9pm

Brandon Miller only 9 points, 3 rebounds and has 5 TOs

Bama pulled it out. What a scandal going on down there with that murder and inaction by the university. Without that kid Miller, that was effectively an accessory to the murder, their team is nowhere near as good. The dark side of big time hoops. Great article in the Hartford Courant today regarding the situation.

I don’t know if it’s a game of interest, but it certainly was interesting to see it unfold. Rutgers was up 10 with 1:15 to play against an awful Minnesota team. And lost.

Minnesota picks up just their second conference win of the season.

Big 10 and their wild finishes. Michigan State lost a game this past weekend (to Iowa) where they had an 11pt lead with 50 seconds left.

OK I hate this kid. And his dad.

Getting 5 years and extra tournaments and blatantly just funneling shots to this kid is lame. You're a good player in a bad conference. Go away.

They are getting smacked down at home, so far. Still have another 20 minutes to play, though.

They, PC, could be looking at a NET over 40 tonight and an 8 or 9 NCAAT seed, if they lose today.

PC was looking good sitting at 12-4 in the conference just ten days ago. They have since lost three out of four having been fortunate to have played hapless Georgetown in that span for their lone win. Not the type of momentum that is wanted to close out the season.

Not a Baron level finish but elements of one or, baronesque. Big Ed heading for sporting glasses and a porn stash on the sidelines next season?

I don’t think they win another game this season. Right now it looks like they’ll play UCONN on Wednesday and then go to the NCAA tournament as a 9 seed with no momentum.

I wouldn't bet on that

If this college basketball season is any indication they will magically put it all together and play their best basketball against UConn, blow them out and win the Big East.

Everyone is just wildly inconsistent and any momentum or lack thereof seems to not matter at all.

Wait, we just added 10-20 Loyola who everyone killed me on by saying it was a bust. We should be better than this.
