Not to be an ass but am I the only one that doesn’t care if Harris never shows up. He hasn’t played a college basketball game in over a year, turning 23 this year, injury history, non-factor at UNC, clearly an academic liability and he’s not going to be here when we make our next tournament run.
I like my academic liabilities to at least be potential cornerstones pieces.
What’s Harris ceiling at this point, slightly better Biggie Minnis?
Yup, could not care less at this point if he comes or not.
No way he plays for us this year, but I still think he plays next year if he wants to play basketball. We are taking the time to get him in school and you would think we would have that figured out by next year.
I mean he doesn't have the body of work to play overseas. Feels like we are his only option. But if there are still question marks about his eligibility coming into next year we should...CUT BAIT.
God gave us light and now he has given us Javonte Brown.

My prediction is he winds up at West Virginia.
Any reason in particular, Eli ?
Please keep in mind that the goal is 20 pages for this thread.
If he is not coming here for whatever reason, Isn't the drama around Ant exactly what "Huugy Bear" does well with--kinda of his specialty-- Remember a player named Jonothan Holton???

Good memory, McRam. I forgot about Holton even though I watched him play for WVU on TV several times. Ooph
History repeats angle. Hmm, compelling angle normally but this is not a normal thread. For the sake of the thread, I can’t agree - only because I don’t think Huggy and WVU have enough cache’, enough uhmph to get us to 20 pages.

Totally forgot about Tre averages 12 and 5 in 29 minutes
Reef,
I was just checking out results fit West Virginia - Auburn Saturday and WVU pulled the upset. Tre played 29 minutes had only 1 rebound and 4 points.
I noted this guy Erik Stevenson had 31 points to lead WVU, in 38 minutes he had 31 points and 6 rebounds. He hit 7-10 3-pointers.
Looked him up he is in his 5th year:
Wichita State
Wichita State
Washington
South Carolina
West Virginia
Never sat out a year - just 4 schools in 5 years with not sit out.

Old nemesis Taylor Funk is still playing remember him ??
His 6th year of college ball including one RS season. He must be 24 ish in age. A pretty mature age physically compared to most 18-19 year old freshman players. Plus 5+ years of experience cbb to draw on.
Covid made it so you have men playing against boys at times in cbb. Crazy time.

Jalen Carey Oct 11, 1999. 23 years 3 months. Still has a year of eligibility
Another factor on "old" players is the Free Extra Covid Year. Many players took or will take advantage of the 5th year. I doubt the NCAA thought so many would end up playing the 5th year.

I hear Ant is waiting for a ruling on whether his Social Security check will be reduced by the amount of NIL money he receives.
Don't understand why there isn't more speculation about this dude. I mean, he's sposed to be really good, right? Maybe he isn't really?
Until we get new news, I don’t understand why we keep repeating ourselves.
Most of us were very excited, except for the few that argued with me that he wasn’t a loss this season. The more I watch Bassy, I think it’s hilarious that people think Ant being on this team from day one and having those minutes wouldn’t be better, but I’m not going down that road again…
I don’t care about this season anymore. We are what we are this season, and one guard that hasn’t played in a long time isn’t going to change much at this stage… At this point, I want him to play next year. Get the rust off during the off-season and start practicing with the team.
Hopefully with a better frontcourt and Weston and Bray taking another step forward I think Ant could be a Jalen Carey type player for us next season. As I said we need a veteran guard because we can’t rely on two freshman guards the first year.

This ^^↑ is exactly what we need....long, drawn out, well-reasoned discourse, presenting an opinion on whether people should offer opinions or ask questions about the topic at hand. Very well done.
Ooooph. My reasoning flew out the window of this thread weeks ago. I got nothin’. My only game plan to 20 pages is resorting to wise cracks. Bench me coach; I am letting the team down.

Yep. March on. More needless drivel on a recruiting thread specific to an individual player.
Already been told multiple times by the Head Coach that this is with the URI Admissions Department.
So it's really irrelevant where he physically is.

Hey Ant! We have a spot open. Come over and play some ball.
I am trying, NYG.
Good one. It'll be interesting to see what kind of legs the Bray thread has. Probably just a couple more pages? I do hope we get to see some video....even if someone just cartoons it for us....
