This is kind of bittersweet for me. It sucks that he went from an A10 assistant to a MAC Director of Operations and it shows just how poorly Cox is viewed nationally as a head coach that he fell that far, but I'm happy that he's still in the game, with a coach that's made the tournament, close to home. Hopefully this is just a temporary setback and he's back in the main assistant ranks shortly

Thanks for posting this, Iggy. Really enjoyed reading about Tyson.

Man, we have a rich history and many bright, talented, respectful Rhody ambassadors out and about locally and beyond both in and out of basketball. Great memories.

You have no idea. He's a father to 3 kids. Is it possible that the mother and 3 kids are back in Michigan and this was best college coaching job he could get back in Michigan?

People tend not to stay in the Director of Operations positions very long. He'll be fine.

EMU needs a fact checker. They were close, but no.

Aside from that, everyone loves TJ, but he was moved into an assistant role on a poor overall staff too early, imo. This gives him a reset in a place where he can grow in the role and maybe move up on the staff in a good recruiting area for him when the time is right. Congrats, TJ!

No inside scoop, but, it's not unusual for guys to go anywhere within driving distance for a highly competitive "run" in the summer. You hear more about it on the West Coast, where UCLA and USC guys regularly end up in private games with NBA and near-NBA guys.

I like it…

Stealth recruiting right under the enemies nose. Probably planted bugs and mini AI directed camera drones while there and microchipped Miranda, too, so we can track his whereabouts.

Just win, baby. #Stealhstaff, #StealthProgram 8-)

Ooph…I need to lay off the 007 movie reruns. :D

The team is Hapoel Eliat in Israel, and he played for them back in 2019.

Also, semi-related former player new- Tahar Sutton (Fatt’s stepdad) was named an assistant coach at Quinnipiac. That’s a well-deserved jump for him, coming from Imhotep and Team Final.

If this has been his "purpose" then maybe he will ride off into the sunset after the ceremony and we won't have to see his breaking news tweets (before he deletes them when he's wrong). Then he can stick to building his YouTube following only.

Can you spot the Rhody grad?

Andre’s been on the UConn staff for a couple weeks now. I will always appreciate how hard he worked to make himself into a solid college player.

I went to the Brown game the EC injury year. That was the year/game when the refs were determined to make both teams play their walk-ons by fouling everybody out. Andre got a lot of run that game and had a real good showing. I sat next to his cousins who were going nuts the whole game. They were an absolute riot - I had a blast talking to them. He really seems like a great guy with a great family, too. Glad he's finding his way.

Berry was still playing professionally as of April 2022 in Spain, so it might just be a workout visit. ETA: Oops, never mind, didn't see the text at the bottom of the picture!

One of those support staff roles. Some programs are calling it General Manager, it’s DBO-type duties.

The Raptors roster is funny. They have like 12 guys that are 6'8 wings/forwards. They do need a guard. I could see Jeff having a role if any of the starting guards went down. You lose FVV or Gary Trent, and Jeff may be one of the better options for them..

Fatts … when he’s on, he’s on
Russell shot 6-13 2-pointers, 7-18 triples, and hit 14-16 free throws. He also produced four rebounds, four assists and four steals and didn’t commit any turnover through the 35:06 minutes he spent on the floor, in a phenomenal performance overall.

I don’t think it’s ever been a “talent” issue with Fatts - which is why he was so maddening to watch. It was a consistency thing.

If Fatts got to play 4 years for Dan I wonder what the opinion of him would be here. Which player stood out from the Cox teams? Even Baron had like half dozen guys I think back on fondly. Maybe Cox’s biggest issue was player development, and his second biggest issue was a lack of an overarching structure. It was not an environment where a lot of players thrived.

Yeah we should never talk about anything except right now in the program. Only present off season October talk.

Dan Hurley? Who’s that? Jim Baron? Nope! Not up in here!

Jerry D? Never heard of him. Harrick? Don’t you dare. Skinner!? Absolutely not. Penders!?!? Not on my watch.

Can’t believe anyone would have the balls to bring up past coaches in a thread about past players. For shame!
