Yeah they've been around last in the Big 12 for a few years and have a new coach. We should have a shot here.

Love it!

And if URI and Nevada both win - we finally got that matchup that Nevada ducked out of a few years ago.

I agree, but to be fair, I believe that is already built in to the "playing golf" category. Or maybe it's just my golf game that gets better with more beers.

LSU and K-State have massive fanbases and the rest are all basketball schools pretty much.

Correct. Three more non-conference games to schedule with the following already in place

Home
Monday 11/7 Quinnipiac
Saturday 12/3 Providence
Milwaukee
Brown

Away
Georgia State
Seton Hall
Boston College

Neutral
Monday 11/21 Kansas State 7:30 pm
Tuesday 11/22 Nevada or Tulane 5 or 7:30 pm
Wednesday 11/23 Akron, Illinois State, LSU or Western Kentucky

No problem with this, based on our previous record.

We have a new roster with a lot of youth and question marks, I am okay with it.

Rhode Island
Home: Davidson, Dayton, George Washington, St. Bonaventure, VCU, Fordham, George Mason, La Salle, Massachusetts
Away: Duquesne, Loyola, Richmond, Saint Joseph’s, Saint Louis, Fordham, George Mason, La Salle, Massachusetts

Not a single home & home with the expected top teams/programs. Our pod indicates that not much is expected for Rhody. Not totally surprising given an 11th place finish and #142 NET rank last season along with a new coach and major roster turnover.

Two marquee home games with Dayton and VCU, can’t really ask for more than that after the last two seasons and all the turnover.

Would have liked St Louis instead of VCU, but can’t complain.

We have to go west to Pittsburgh, Chicago, and St. Louis. The only western outpost we're not going out to is Dayton. That's pretty terrible.

The conference tries (smartly) to pair the teams with the highest ceilings together...when our prospects were strong we were routinely paired with Dayton, VCU and Davidson. This pairing is reflective of our bad results for 2 straight seasons. We deserve this pairing.

That said UMass, GMU and Fordham (can't believe I am saying this) don't bring much name value but they will all likely be picked right around us in the middle of the league. They aren't Duquesne and Lasalle.

We also get Dayton, VCU and Davison at home. Could have been worse.

The unbalanced schedule hurts when it comes to developing an NCAA resume, but it helps if we're trying to finish in the top 4.

I love our ability to get a double bye with this schedule.

On the bright side, we should win a lot of games with that schedule. Sweep the 4 teams that we have home and home and take care of business at home against VCU, Dayton and Davidson, then go from there.

I think we deserve one top team out of the four. That the A10 can't figure out that URI/Dayton should be a pairing is beyond me. Hell go back to the 2017-18 season when we were coming off a tournament and still loaded. We had a garbage La Salle program as one of our home and homes that 2017-18 season

Wow 78, I don't think it will be quite as easy as you make it out to be.

This is a new and young roster, don't be too disappointed if it doesn't work out that way.

Conference is taking care of the teams that had good years last year and are projected to have good years this year as well. Getting teams that are more likely to be good facing each other twice is also better for TV. All 8 of Dayton's SLU's and VCU's double pairing games will be slated for national tv. It does not make sense to switch out any of of Dayton's pairings for us even with the arrival of Archie.

It literally makes all the sense in the world. Easily one of the ten most compelling story lines in the league is Archie's return to Dayton, and our conference in all its infinite wisdom decided to wait a year and a half at least to have that game, giving the story line plenty of time to cool off

If you are not pleased with URI's A-10 conference game opponents, you will likely also be very disappointed when the league tv schedule is released. Expect less URI games to be on the wider coverage national tv networks with more contests only available via streaming on ESPN+ this season. Consecutive years of poor play and bad records have consequences.
