The University of Rhode Island host an early afternoon game this Saturday against George Washington. The Colonials are led by a pair of guards who both average 15 per game, James Bishop & Virginia Tech transfer Joe Bamisile. Bamisile is a solid defender as well, averaging roughly 1.5 blocks & steals per game. Those 2 players are their main threats from deep. George Washington also has former URI commit who went to UConn with Hurley, Brendan Adams. He is averaging 9 & 4 but is shooting a paltry 21% from deep. Another player of note to keep an eye on is the former teammate of the Mitchell twins at Maryland, Ricky Lindo Jr. He is averaging 8 & 8. His game reminds me a bit of Antwan Walker’s but gets more rebounds/blocks. With that being said, GW is not a very good team. They opened A10 play with 25+ losses to Dayton & VCU. URI should be favored by about 14 in this contest. After their last debacle, I would like to say Rhody wins & covers, but who knows. Hopefully the Rams play like they did against UMass opposed to how they played against La Salle. I am expecting somewhere in the middle. Rhody wins this one, 74-62. Go Rhody!!
