Attendance: Boston College Get Your Tickets Early

Unread post by ramster »

5133 - Boston University
5455 - Bryant

FYI,

A word to the wise get your tickets to Boston College early.

Wednesday Nov 17 6pm CBSSN

Then it’s on to Florida for Nov 20, 21 and 23

Ticket sales for BC from the ACC are already more advanced than for the 1st two games which sold better than most expected considering Covid and Vax/Mask requirements.

These numbers are better than past years for similar type opponents early in the season. This is especially good considering Covid. My guess is that increased student turnout is driving these numbers. The fact that students have far fewer gathering and other conflicting interest opportunities than in the past because of Covid might actually be resulting in more students at the games. Covid may be having opposite effects on different segments of potential attendees.

Someone deserves a TON of credit for the student turn out so far this season. With Covid, team expectations, etc, I am shocked at how many students have been here.

Just a guess on my part, but The student turnout for the first two home games seems to be better than some Hurley years and those seasons first two home games.

Bryant posed an intriguing in-state opponent I’m sure helped with attendance. More of a challenge than Brown.

Good to see schools across the country playing more local opponents since the rise of Covid.

Maybe this year, but Brown has beaten URI too many times to anoint Bryant as a perennially better program. As to playing more local opponents, Ed Cooley was a little late on this score. I am pleased that Bryant is becoming more competitive in all sports. Also, Bryant was without one of their better players.

Wait, but I was told the mask policy was going to keep people away?!?

I went to a game at the on campus home of a top 25 team today. They also had a similar mask and clear bag policy. In fact, during timeouts ushers were walking the aisles with signs on poles reminding people to keep their masks on.

That's what they did at the PPAC. The ushers had signs.

Did last years bubbleville matchup count as the ‘away’ game we were supposed to play at BC as part of the home-and-home?

If you like Queen, you should go see this. Here's a video comparing his and Freddie's voice. Plays with a full band for the show......And Bonamassa, I want to see him with Beth Hart.

I noticed way more students than I ever expected at the JWU game you'd sometimes hear crickets from the student section for those early-season games. Part of me was wondering if there was some kind of incentive for them to attend? Then again, I also thought now that maybe some of the mid to late 90s babies were more dazed and apathetic and didn't care about games? Now these early 00's kids have a different mindset since they've been on their phone since they were 7 and now want to do something fun?

My son is in high school and the crowds have been bigger than usual for all sporting events this year, whether it is football or girls soccer it doesn’t matter. Seems like the kids are excited to be able to be together at an event after everything being locked down for too long.

I think the 6:00 start will keep a lot of people away. There are tons of tickets left. On the other hand, I expect a huge student crowd tonight.

I always use to hate early games because I couldn't get to them on time. Now that I'm retired, it's perfect. I'm home by 9:30, just in time for bed.
