Turgeon should play Fatts at the point. Under the right coaching, Fatts could be a fantastic point guard. I always thought Fatts was his best when he was driving and dishing. Not when he was dropping 20+. Regardless he will never be a better point guard than Jeff Dowtin...

You may be loyal but your desire to give David Cox a substantial raise after last season and to increase his contract by 2 years after he went (10-15) and finished in 10th place in the A10 was not an example of being loyal, it was an example of craziness.steviep123 wrote: ↑2 years agoAll evidence to the contrary.Rhody72 wrote: ↑2 years agoSorry, but I have been a URI basketball fan for over 50 years. Leave it up to Thorr and the University President - Thorr is doing the right thing in setting expectations for his year and NOT increasing his salary or contract. I know you disagree.

I can't believe we keep letting this troll monopolize the board. Stop responding to his ridiculous takes.
The overarching theme is always - URI is lucky to have a basketball program and they deserve someone like David Cox. Everything is a backhanded compliment or reason that URI should settle.
He's the best troll on this board. He's a perfect caricature of a south county bumpkin who only watches URI sports. Hats off, it's a great schtick. Stop engaging.

You know, I don't even think he's consciously a troll. I have enough FB friends that there are some Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox "fans" who just shit incessantly on the team, or, who worry immediately after winning a championship, to know that there are some truly bizarre - but sincerely held - beliefs out there.steveystuds06 wrote: ↑2 years ago I find Rhody 72 hilarious. Dan Hurley and Tyrese Martin got a visit from an old friend and “family” member at practice about a month ago. David Cox, the head coach at Rhode Island who was Hurley’s assistant for four seasons with the Rams, drove up from Kingston, Rhode Island, to Storrs to watch a UConn practice.

Kentucky will be very good this year and put last season behind them. Not sure Jacob will be starting, the team looks loaded.
Kellan Grady should be solid for them, many picking him 1st/2nd team all SEC.

I looked on the NMSU roster but didnt see Jermaine Harris listed?
Out of curiousity… Elijah Wood started for EIU in a loss to Northwestern. 4 fouls in 11 minutes.

Harris is not playing for New Mexico State. Nobody on the NMSU Message Boards is aware of why but he hasn’t been listed for about a month or two.

I’ve been monitoring the NMSU Board for months and nobody there knows. My guess is he was not going to see the playing time he was desiring. NMSU has a strong and deep team.

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
Eh, not really that odd; it happens more than you'd think. Depending on where you look online for his date of birth, he's 23 to 25. He might already have his degree, if he was interested in getting that, or be close enough to getting it that he can finish somewhere else. He might want to try playing pro ball - he's tall, and was once a four-star recruit, so there are smaller Euro leagues he could probably hook on with for at least some tryouts. There are a bunch of reasons he could have left NMSU, ranging from the boring (didn't want to play basketball anymore; wasn't going to get regular minutes) to the scandalous.
