No, but your making a big deal and criticizing reef over his trademark bye bye PC comment was beyond the pale and is an attempt to muzzle free expression.

Buoyed by D'Mitrick Trice 29 points, #9 Wisconsin broke open a close contest in last four minutes to beat #12 Michigan State, 85-76. This was the Badgers 10th straight Big Ten win and the first win in Lansing since 2004.

Re: Week #5 - Games of Interest
In a Team that we might have played in OOC (Minnesota was one of the 4 original teams in our Mohegan Sun Tournament) the Gophers upset Iowa behind the 8-9 on 3FGs from their Grad Transfer Guard:
Brandon Johnson joined Minnesota as a graduate transfer in this pandemic-altered season, the adjustment to Big Ten play made even more challenging by a recent ankle injury.
He sure found his comfort zone against Iowa.
Johnson went 8 for 9 from 3-point range - making all four of his attempts in overtime - and finished with 26 points and nine rebounds to lead Minnesota's late surge for a 102-95 upset victory over No. 4 Iowa on Friday night.
After matching the single-game school record for 3-pointers made - more than he hit in each of his first two college seasons at Western Michigan - Johnson was mobbed by his teammates on the court in the otherwise-empty arena.

Re: Week #5 - Games of Interest
Another game of interest is the rivalry game (some schools still honor this type of commitment), Kentucky at Louisville, 1 PM. On ESPN. Another chance to see Jacob in action

Re: Week #5 - Games of Interest
Wow — I didn’t think they’d play an in-state rival from a different conference. Or maybe only fairly ridiculous chickenshit schools avoid those games.

Watching Gonzaga hammering Virginia. They look unbeatable, although we’ve seen this from them in previous years.
They are the kings of the OOC lately. They should petition the NCAA to move the tournament to early January. They’d never lose.

Re: Week #5 - Games of Interest
It was a tough spot for Virginia, having just recently come off Covid pause. After watching Gonzaga play today and versus Iowa last week, I feel you can score against them. The problem will be trying to stop them from scoring. They have a lot of answers. Their star freshman guard Suggs had a quiet game and they were still up by 30 with five minutes remaining, when Few pulled four of his starters.

Re: Week #5 - Games of Interest
Gonzaga is head and shoulders above the field this year. If they stay healthy it's their year.
Kentucky bit off more than they could chew with their schedule, with such a young team that didn't have the opportunity to prepare for the season properly due to the pandemic.
Come to think of it, that describes our situation as well. With virtually an entirely new team, we could have used an easier schedule to start the season, to help us at least confidence wise. We all thought we would be better, but obviously that's not been the case.
But who knew? Next season, a tough early schedule should set us up for success, if indeed we're good enough.

In what may be a first, on Sunday there are no games in the A-10 nor are there any games involving URI OOC opponents. A day of no interest!!

Baylor looks like they could give Gonzaga some trouble.rambone 78 wrote: ↑3 years ago Gonzaga is head and shoulders above the field this year. If they stay healthy it's their year.

It doesn't make sense how the Zags can be this good offensively with everything going on.
Hoping they win the title this year.

Re: Week #5 - Games of Interest
Just saw where Norfolk State beat George Mason yesterday. Ugh!
Not good when a MEAC team beats an A10 team, any A10 team, on the road. Mason was a 9 1/2 point favorite.

You are right on that. Mason led throughout the second half by as much as 17 points, but Norfolk caught up at the very end to win it. Very bad loss all around.
